"1.high rents considering the location . You can find apartments much closer to ritten house for these rents 2. Slow elevators , very slow 3. They will purposefully lie about parking situation . You won’t get parking for a year in building and surrounding private garages are full too .I pay 400 for parking and park half a mile away 5. No garbage disposal in kitchen sink , get ready to use your hand if you cook 6. Old minimal equipment in gym . No towels or even wipes in gym . For what they are charging in rents they should atleast have wipes . 7. Centrally controlled ac ..heats and cools to odd temperature … that may not suit all tenants Unless you work in the nearby hospital ,look else where . You can find better apartment with movein special , pool for less . 1500 locust is one of them but there are several 8. Extremely arrogant management. They forget my rent pays their salary .you will see their true colors only after you movein . They turn especially nasty when you are moving out …. Stay away from this building .."
"The Pepper building was a great place to live. The location was perfect - very close to the restaurants near Rittenhouse while also in a very spacious spot. It's also the best place in the area to live when you have a dog! We're really going to miss the great views of our apartment and the convenience of all of the amenities of the apartment building."
"My fiancé and I moved into the Pepper Building back in February and our experience has been nothing but incredible. The great experience actually started a month before when we originally toured the building and the available apartments. The warm welcome we received from the staff and the interaction between residents and staff was nothing like we had seen at other apartment buildings. We have both been so happy since Day 1 and are glad we made the choice, even during these unusual times. We have and will continue to recommend this building to our friends in the area."
"I just moved into The Pepper Building the very beginning of June and have had a really wonderful experience. Prior to moving I worked with Naté Rogers to find a good fit. I actually accidently requested information on a two-bedroom apartment (though I live alone) and she was the one who told me about The Pepper and that she thought there may be a space that I would love here. She was super honest with me about my options and prior to my move in was always readily available to answer my calls or emails. She really took the time to go through everything with me. She is clearly a really hard worker who truly cares about finding others a place where can feel at home. I never had the opportunity to see my exact apartment until move-in day, so I was a bit nervous, but when I arrived the space far exceeded my expectations. I have never lived in a big city before and am living on my own without knowing anyone in the area, so I have been so glad for how kind everyone in the building has been. On move-in day the concierge was super understanding and they allowed me to schedule to use the elevator to strictly go up and down to my floor while I moved in all of my stuff. I have a dog and a cat, and the building is exceptionally pet friendly, yet I have yet to hear a single other dog barking when I am in my apartment. Likewise, I don’t hear anything from the apartments on either side of me through the walls. There have been small favors that have brightened my days here, for example one of the maintenance crew members went above and beyond to help me with all of my recycling and breaking down my numerous boxed after I unpacked though I was going to do it myself and it certainly wasn’t his responsibility. The maintenance guys have been super great about allowing me to borrow their ladder on 3 different occasions and promptly checked things out for me (I killed the microwave and they got me a new one and installed it super quickly). The apartment has tall ceilings and large windows to allow for ample natural light. The location seems pretty wonderful. My job is right next to the Children’s Hospital of Pennsylvania (CHOP) and it is only a 25 minute walk or an 8 minute bike ride to work - plus the bus stop is right in front of the building and there is an Indego bike rental rack next door. I have been walking my dog every morning down to the Schuylkill River dog park which is only about a 10-15 minute walk from here and he has loved making friends there. At the dog park they have separate areas for large and smaller dogs so he can run off leash with dogs of a similar size. I know that no place is perfect, but I have had a really great experience here so far. This is the fourth apartment building that I have lived in and thus far it has been the best experience I’ve had. I feel safe and all of the staff have been kind and willing to help. The location is close to pretty much anything I could need, and my apartment is really beautiful and spacious with ample natural light. I am not usually one to write reviews but in the age of the coronavirus I thought it was important to pass along my experience to others looking to find a new residence when it isn’t always possible to visit. I was super overwhelmed by all of the options and finding a place when moving to an unfamiliar city but I am really glad I ended up at The Pepper. PS- I was reading some of the older reviews and I can say that the elevators seem to work great and my maintenance requests and emails have all been very promptly responded to."
"Our 7-month stay at The Pepper Building was great. We initially thought we would need a pet-friendly, furnished rental for about 3 months while we waited for the renovations of our house to be completed. The renovations dragged on and we ended up staying 7 months. However, the folks at Urban Perch/The Pepper Building were great! They were very flexible and allowed us to continue to extend our lease on a pro-rated basis as it became unclear when we would be able to move into our house. It was bittersweet the day we moved out because I knew I would miss the friendly people who worked there and my fellow dog-loving residents. Our one-bedroom apartment was roomy, spacious, updated and well maintained. The location was also fabulous!"
