Reviews of Kardon/Atlantic Apartments
"I lived at Kardon Atlantic for two years and it was genuinely the best living experience I have had thus far in my adult life. The staff was always incredibly kind an attentive and the maintenance staff was always timely and effective. The facilities are gorgeous and the entire building feels like a luxury experience. Every time someone visited from out of town, they couldn't believe how cool my building was. I also never had a problem with rodents, somewhat of a rarity in Philadelphia apartment buildings. It is by far the most spacious building, the most value for money, and the best living space Temple University's area has to offer."
"The only things good about this place is the location, the high ceilings and Daryl, the security gaurd and probably the only person that does his job properly, the elevators are constantly down, laundry machines are awful and or broken half the time. Sometimes you will have to run the load in the washer at least twice if you want your clothes to be clean. Keep in mind you are paying $2.50 every load. Dryers are the same way, there might be one good dryer on each floor and its another $2 to dry. If you plan to live here for multiple years they will constantly raise prices every year, and try to coherce you into releasing asap so its a smaller increase otherwise if you wait itll be a larger increase for your monthly rent. They say they clean every apartment thoroughly for new tenants, which is a completely false. Windows will grow mold no matter how much you clean them. If possible I would recommend looking somewhere else first."
"As a parent, the location of this building is much better than others for safety and convenience. The apartments are very large and have huge windows. Many common spaces in the building too. Almost akin to being in a dorm. I'd highly recommend !"
"when you are paying over $800 a month for a student apartment, you would think the amenities would be abundant and the staff would be quick on their feet to fix any issue. I've found that to be far from the case. On top of the stupidly thin walls, I've had a different maintenance issue nearly every month I've been here from leaky ceilings to lack of hot water (THREE TIMES) in the apartment. This weekend when the air conditioning went out was the final straw for me. Air conditioning has been gone for some residents for over a week. Mine has been weakening but gave out yesterday on a 100 degree day. Last night we received an email saying the staff was working "diligently" to fix the issue. Cut to today and we receive an email saying maintenance won't come in until TOMORROW MORNING to fix it and even then it will take up to 12 hours. They tried to make it seem like not that big of an issue by saying it will only be a high of 75 tomorrow. Sure, that's great, but what about today and yesterday when the high is 100 and 92 degrees respectively? This is a complete outrage and entirely unacceptable. If you want a pretty apartment with big windows and a long list of practical issues, you've found your place."
"My experience living in Kardon-Atlantic wasn't bad, but it wasn't good either. Kardon is definitely on the more expensive end when it comes to off campus housing. When I moved in things were broken, my sink leaked the whole time I was there until they just completely replaced it, signing in guests is a hassle, it smells like pot constantly (but so does everywhere close it campus), and the laundry was expensive (2$ each for the washer and 2$ for the dryer) both machines were often broken and also ruined some of my clothes. In all, I would recommend looking for different housing if you're a temple student, it's not hard to find. But if you're running out of options, Kardon isn't awful. The only saving grace of Kardon is that the security guards are awesome, especially Darrell and Mr. Mike."
