"I have lived at Plymouth gardens for over a year now and once out lease is up we’re moving out. The place isn’t great and for what your paying it isn’t worth it. First off, the office is worthless. When we signed the lease they told us we were grandfathered in for our rent which was a lie. Every time I call them for non maintenance related issues they can’t be bothered and the attitude is that nothing is their fault. The pool is almost never open. Once I locked myself out on a Sunday and the answering service is pointless. I had to essentially break into my own apt or I would have been locked out the whole day. If I were to say there was one positive it would be that the maintenance is excellent. That’s pretty much it."
"Wish I could give 10 stars. The best budget complex ever. Period. Unbeatable prices, amazing maintenance staff. Yes the building is old and yes sh*t will break, but they will fix it within 24 hours. I will miss this complex so much. Donna at the office is a champion!"
"Lived at Plymouth Gardens for a bit over three years. Would recommend! LEASING OFFICE: Management was always helpful and maintenance requests were addressed pretty quickly -- they usually came to address it within the same day of putting in the request, if not, definitely within 24 hours. The leasing office handled COVID-19 pretty well too. They cleaned the hallways more and were pretty clear in their communications with any changes. Only negative is that there's no online portal or anything. You have to pay with personal checks and take it to the leasing office and you have to call for maintenance requests. But, again, they're very helpful and responsive so it's not that much of a hassle. (Special shout out to Tina -- She's amazing!) VALUE: Pretty spacious units, at least in comparison to the places I lived in prior to Conshy in KOP. The price is good for what you're getting and there's lots to do in the area (outside of COVID). During my time there, there were minor price increases following the end of my lease to renew, but it was under $100/month and not too significant (first year was just a $25/mo increase). Still a great cost for the area, which is great to get into the city. Multiple train stations nearby that I used regularly. AMENITIES: There was a pool, but honestly, that's probably another negative. Hours were inconvenient to my 9-5 schedule and weekends fluctuated, but if we're all in a virtual environment, I guess that won't matter as much. Parking was great -- the lot is pretty spacious and they always did a good job taking care of the snow. Just watch out for some of the trees because they have A LOT of sap that'll wreck your car if you park there long enough. Lots of room for you and visitors. To anyone complaining, if there wasn't a spot open near my door, that meant I had to walk maybe 10 parking spaces farther away... So it's not as bad as others are making it seem. Packages were hit or miss, but that's at no fault of the management since they ask that you have packages delivered to the leasing office (not sure if anyone does that). My packages were always either under my mailbox or at my door. I noticed some neighbors would have packages laying around their door for awhile, but their units had multiple entrances, so I'm assuming they have more trouble keeping up with that. Washer/Dryer was definitely bothersome. I had a unit with it included, which I don't recommend unless they get new machines. They were super small and you could only run one at a time (if your washer was running, you couldn't put clothes in your dryer). If I knew that was going to be the case, I would have gotten a cheaper unit without it and just used the shared laundry space. The courtyard areas were really nice. Extra plus -- You get a free storage unit! NOISE: Walls were surprisingly really good with sound, and I say this having maybe three different neighbors throughout my time there. Overall neighborhood is great as well. Pay attention to whether your unit is facing a courtyard though. This will increase noise levels a bit. OTHER: It might have just been my unit, but my place was HOT! I think I was under the laundry room and above the boilers, plus the huge bay windows in the living room didn't help, but it was HOT HOT HOT! AC units can only do so much without hiking up my electricity bill. I found myself using it until October! The heat is free since it's gas and included which is nice, but the air was always so dry. Definitely invest in a good humidifier. Last note -- critters. I'm convinced it was because of my new neighbors because my second year there, I had a mouse in my place. They came over and put up that sticky paper and some old-school mouse traps. It never worked and I just kept my place a bit colder in the winter to keep it away. I'd imagine any other complex would have taken the same unhelpful measures. Bug sightings were just as any other place in MontCo. OVERALL: YES! Stay there! I moved only to be in the city. Great location, great value and great service."
"Lived here for a year. Kind of miss the place. They have a pool which is nice, which closes a bit early... stinks for people who would like to jump in after a long work day. Teressa at the office is a great lady and super nice. I stayed at the bottom floor which is $20 extra. The apartment had plenty of natural light! The maintenance crew is very responsive when something happens. One time I plugged in a vacuum and the whole outlet blew up. It was pretty scary considering it almost took off my hand. Liability... but it was fixed the same day. Also had a few problems with roaches appearing out of nowhere. The biggest problem I had was stolen packages around Christmas time - $900 worth of smartwatches were stolen. Police report was made. I would consider getting a ring cam. Another issue was living on the first floor... when it rains it pours! Basically if you don't have a sidewalk leading to the front door your front yard turns into a lake and you cannot cross. I addressed a letter to management. They tore up the ground a bit but nothing was completed. They stated that such an area could not even hold stepping stones. In regards to the staff they were nice individuals, but sometimes did not follow through with their promises. If you have a complaint - write a letter, but it seemed that the letter was forgotten about since I had to address the concern with the office a few times. They don't really follow up with you unless you come to them first. Finding parking late at night can be brutal. It's not miles away but a pretty great distance especially if it's raining. Overall it's a beautiful place. Feels pretty safe, can walk to the conshy gym (superfit) and the park."
"We basically have had no heat the entire winter. This is not an exaggeration. The problem is with the entire Taylor building and it just never seems to be fixed. We were offered kerosene space heaters which we cannot use since we have young children so at our own expense had to purchase cool to touch electric heaters, however, the wiring is so decrepit they can not be used at the same time with blowing a fuse. So we freeze at night so the kids room can run one and they can stay moderatly warm. Calls to management go nowhere. They are aware of the problem and basically tell you to deal. This is the biggest motivating factor for us moving out this spring. This may be the largest problem we have encountered in our 4 years here, but by no means the only one. The issues in this complex are far to numerous to list but include leaking windows, substandard wiring, heating, lack of hot water, and parking is a massive issue. It is simply not worth the money to rent when there are better options in the area at comparable prices."
