Reviews of The Villas at Bryn Mawr Apartment Homes
"Lived here for 4ish years from 2014-2019 Pros: There's a shuttle to Villanova if you're a student that comes by pretty frequently to take you to and from campus. I believe her name was Stacy, don't know if she's still there, but the only good part of the apartment. There's a train that takes you all the way to Philly. Easy access to go out to Philly on weekends/events. Cons: Floors super thin. Had carpets and slippers on but one of the downstairs neighbors consistently complained about my footsteps. Walls are thin af: I could feel the draft coming in from the outside when I held my hand two inches away from the wall. Loud neighbors: It's a given since college students live here, but it can get pretty rowdy at times. Mice: Had mice consistently throughout for a couple years. Field or house mice, caught a few using mouse traps, asked the maintenance to seal any openings, but no avail. Laundry area is gross: Not too well maintained. The machines are old and quite pricy. You also need to get it charged at the leasing office. If you're not like most of the students at this school who have homes close and take their laundry for their parents to do, you will have some difficulties. Parking: Didn't have a car, so not much of a problem, but always heard my friends complain about the lack of parking, especially at night. Expensive: They basically are the only ones offering large scale off campus housing that has the shuttle service. Don't know what the rent is now, but a 1bed/1bath was around 1400 in 2019. If you don't have a roommate, it will be costly."
"I just moved out here from San Diego, Ca for work and so far it has been a great experience. Granted, there are a lot of students and loud folks walking around late at night but to be expected in a place that houses many college folks. Adrianna has been great in the leasing office and the amenities have been great. My dog Ginger is an anxious dog and trying to get use to her new surroundings. So far the dog park is her favorite place and chasing the squirrels is her jam! LOL Not my favorite thing but definitely hers! Ha! I can't wait to try out the other amenities! I love my apartment add the close proximity to the main line street with all of the shops and restaurants. Looking forward to more positive experiences! Cheers!"
"The Villas at Bryn Mawr has been a great place to call home. The staff are very helpful, maintenance responds super quickly, they wear masks and gloves because of the global situation which is very much appreciated. The gym and pool are great. These buildings are also super close to Lancaster Ave which has everything you would want within walking distance. Last year they upgraded the apartments with smart tech. Really cool can lock unlock your door from your phone, change the thermastat settings even automate it so you don't have to touch it again."
"I really enjoy living at The Villas at Bryn Mawr. I've been here for 4 months and it's been a very pleasant, safe, and comfortable experience. My 1 bedroom apartment has plenty of space for me (living room, kitchen, bedroom, bathroom, and closet space). It was freshly painted and brand new carpet was installed days before I moved in. Maintenance staff are friendly, helpful, and respond in a reasonable time frame. There was no outlet in the bathroom when I moved in and when I put in a request, they brought in a contractor to install one within a week. The leasing office staff (Nick, Tracey, Tanae, and others) are wonderful. They have answered all of my questions and are always friendly. They host lots of great community events. I like that the laundry room is right across the hall from me and I'm right across the street from the fitness center. I also like that we have a lot of green space. We get updates on all the improvements and updates coming to our community, which gives me the feeling that they care about our experience here and want to make it as enjoyable as possible. My one and only complaint is that I can hear a lot of what goes on with my neighbors that live above me. I'm not sure if it's because they don't have carpets or if the ceiling/floors are a little thin, but that is the only thing I would change. I saw several poor reviews prior to moving in and I believe they have to be about the prior owners of this apartment complex, because I have had nothing but pleasant and positive experiences with the Villas staff."
"Home Properties of Bryn Mawr are decent apartments, and the prices are about on par with most other properties in the area of a similar quality. There are lots of trees and green grass, making it a pleasant experience walking around the complex. Many units, including mine, have newer ovens, refrigerators, and dishwashers. Hardwood floors are a plus as well. Some units have washer and dryer in unit, which I would recommend (even though it takes up most of the closet space) because the on site washers and dryers that must be paid for are often busy or broken. I have made a handful of requests for maintenance and have always had someone out within 24 hours. The management does a good job as well. The complex is very well kept. The swimming pool and fitness center on-site are nice pluses as well. The biggest negative aspect of these apartments are the residents. During the summer, it is quite nice - many units sit empty, and it is easy to find a parking spot next to your apartment, go for a swim with just you and your friends, etc. From September - May, however, a majority of the residents are students, who often leave trash scattered around outside, and can be quite noisy well into the morning. The overabundance of people also makes getting a regular parking spot in the evening very difficult, despite paying a fee for parking (which can't be taken off even if you do not drive). If you use public transport, the high speed line is on the property, so that is a big plus if you need to go into the city."
