Reviews
"I first discovered Juana Tamale when I 1st moved to Philly in 2018 and on the hunt for Christmas tamales. Let's move to this fabulous location. I have had something from every category. And would recommend it all. But that's not why I'm writing this review. I was stuck at work trying to meet a deadline. It was snowing, Freezing. It's 830p and been here since 7am with 5 hours more to make deadline. My fabulous son called to make sure they could still deliver. He ordered me the Soup & Sandwich Special- a rich spicy tomato soup jazzed up with garlic & chipolte and a grilled cheese mulita. Just in case he also ordered the Sopa de Pollo, a rich broth with carrots, onions and chicken in every bite. It warmed my body and soul. Revived I finished just before deadline. Let me tell you tomato soup is a great breakfast food. They go really well with street tacos. Washed down with a Ting. (I'm very cross cultural) If you are looking for authentic Mex, run to Juana Tamale. You'll thank me later."
"Love. Love. Love this so much! Everything about it is good. Parking wasn’t hard, it’s 2 hour paid parking. The service was friendly and helpful. The vibe is awesome and the music was nice. The service was quick for eating inside the restaurant. It’s clean, including the bathroom. Food is fresh!"
"Why did it take me SO long to come here?!? Don't make the same mistake. This was by far the best birthday dinner idea. The decor was fun and inviting and the tamales were good. The spanish fries... I will not disclose how many were eaten (all...). The birria tacos were AhhhhMazing! The best I have had to date. Everything about them was perfect! Every thing!! The churros were so crispy on the outside and soft and creamy on the inside... perfect! Absolutely delicious! Not to miss out on!"
"It was an absolutely amazing off the wall place we stumbled across looking for dinner. With the seasoned chips served with the chips and salsa, the taco and ramen, the Cali burrito and the tamales and street tacos, we were not let down across the board. The Ramen entree was a unique and delightfully tasty addition to what I would consider a simple menu, however, the simplicity did not fall short on flavor. Eclectic and funky little spot playing a mix of surfer, punk, reggae vibe. The service was top notch. Very attentive. Took time to explain menu choices and how to approach having an optimal experience to enjoying the ramen. Would definitely be back if in the area. To top it off, the churros were just bangin'."
"Really cool place serving up a wide variety of authentic Mexican dishes. First the decor and colors inside are awesome. Really cool vibe; and the staff was very friendly. I tried the bean burrito and a set of birria tacos. The tacos had the perfect combination of flavor and texture. The Consommé for dipping was rich and flavorful. The best part is they pay their workers a fair wage and are transparent about it. Don’t come if you’re cheap!"
