Reviews of Cambridge Hall Apartments
"There is a fire alarm going off for over a month and they refuse to address it or respond to my emails. This is truly outrageous and I wouldn’t wish this upon anyone. Edit: This alarm has been going off for 2.5 months! The landlord refuses to do anything to remediate the issue. They finally response after I reached out for the first two months but they still haven’t done anything to remediate the damage. Please provide a solution in your next comment as this is ongoing."
"Stopped here at night to visit my brother like I have dozens of times before, but this time they threaten to tow my car because I didn't let them know ahead of time I was going to be here. Who the hell is he going to notify at midnight on Labor Day that I'm stopping by for an hour? What kind of insane parking policy is this? Don't live here if you want anyone to visit I guess?"
"I rented a 1 bedroom at Cambridge hall for one year and the only reason I did not renew is because I had the opportunity to move in with friends across town. My apartment was very spacious and had a little balcony. Any concerns, questions or issues I had with appliances or what have you were addressed VERY promptly by maintenance, and I did not have many issues at all. My unit did not have a washer and dryer but there are washers and dryers in the basement for WAY cheaper than the local laundromats. ($2 a load). Buildings are locked and the complex has a security officer that patrols at night for safety (I particularly liked this because I travel on foot and mostly return from work after it’s dark). The amenities were great although I wish I used the pool and gym more! My favorite thing was the location, it sits right outside the borough (still very walkable to center of town, I did that for work everyday). There are a lot of trees and such around the complex, and it was nice to hear birds chirping and all that. I would see deer and even some hawks sometimes! Very quiet too. I didn’t know what to expect as they provide student rentals as well. I never had any issues with noise or anything like that. There’s a trash compactor where you take your trash which is nice. Honestly, 10/10 experience. Great place to rent and live for a year. Two bonus things which I found very nice: they gave me a little welcome package when I moved in with toilet paper and a little water bottle and other stuff and during the holiday season, they left a small succulent at every residents door. My experience is that if you have any questions or issues, you just need to call the leasing office and communicate with them! I would 100% live here again :) thanks for a great year!"
"Cambridge has horrible management. I moved in 2019. I have asked multiple times to have the landscapers tr bushes that have now created a wall in front of my windows. All I see when I look outside is a bush. I have been ignored at times, I have been told they can’t trim them because it will kill the bushes. There is also an issue with parking. God forbid you get home late, I have had to park 2 buildings away from where I live to find parking. I also told someone they could use my address to get mail temporarily because they were having issues with mail being stolen, and of course the leasing office had it returned to sender claiming it could be someone trying to claim residence. This was after I had pre communication regarding the mail and they disregarded anything I said."
"(read the other negative reviews and you will see we have all had similar experiences!) Horrible, horrible staff at their main office. Extremely rude, disorganized, and unprofessional. I have had countless issues in my one single year living here. The day I moved in, they had to go through four sets of keys before they could figure out which ones worked for my door. Otto himself had to walk to and from the office in the heat to try and mess with the doorknob. He was always slightly confused. I am not even sure he still works there anymore! The window in my room didn’t close all the way or lock. The screen was popping loose constantly. The outdated rotted wood floorboard pieces would pop up and my roommate and I would literally trip on them. The garbage disposal broke a couple times and the dishwasher was flooding into the apartment below me, which took forever to get fixed and the repair men that hardly came were always high and unable to fix the issue the first couple times. Flooding happened at least five times. I called many, many times about issues and they would either “have to get back to me” or would “address the issue shortly”. They never understood what was going on or kept track of anything that was wrong! So after my year here, I moved out thankfully, and they charged me a whopping $1,100 for “cleaning and repairs” that was simply inaccurate. I was STUNNED! They listed things that were already issues here! And of course when I called I argued with someone that I’ve never heard of before in the office and Allison. They were wildly incorrect about their statements but would not budge on anything whilst citing “common sense” and morals….but could not prove anything they were using to argue. It is clearly just to get insane amounts of money from college students (by the way, that's the majority of who lives here, and it frequently reeks of pot). It is terrible what they think they can get away with. DO NOT LIVE HERE if you want to deal with such a confusing and expensive mess of a complex."
