"I booked an appointment 2 months ago to have my son seen for the school physical. The lady on the phone made comments about me being from the south and asked if my insurance would cover the appointment, which was a bit unsettling but I am adjusting to the culture that is a lot less friendly so I let it roll. Prior to ending the call, I asked if I would be able to bring the health inventory paperwork to the appointment and the reply was, "yes, but we won't be able to fill anything out until he's seen.".... well, of course, how else would you know what to put on it?.... Any way, the day of the appointment, we arrive, the NP was great and advised me to drop the paperwork off at the front on my way out. I do and go on about my way. 2 days later, I get a call advising me that the paperwork cannot be filled out until I complete my portion and the lady proceeds to list the parts that say parent. At this point, I'm agitated because, why didn't anyone say that? I was not told this at the time I scheduled, nor when I was present. But okay, I will get it done. I tell the lady that I will drop off another set. 2 days later I show up to drop off another set and now I'm given a tracking sheet to fill out. I'm confused and ask why and the response is "every document that needs to be completed has a tracking sheet." I said oh that's interesting because I didn't have one on Monday. She proceeds to tell me there's a $10 fee and I can pay it now or when I come back. I asked for the other papers and she didn't know where they were... also didn't bother to look. The following week I get a call to pick up the paperwork and am told, "I don't know if you transferred in or not, but the lead testing we didn't complete here, so that's not filled out. You could have the previous office send it over, if you want." Which was interesting to me because THE ENTIRE MEDICAL RECORD HAD TO BE SENT IN ORDER TO SCHEDULE THE APPOINTMENT. I show up the next day to get the papers and am only given the completed packet. When asked for the other packet, I'm immediately told she doesn't know where it is without her moving an inch to locate it. So I stand there and say again that I want it. She looks and ends up finding it and there's a sticky note on it.. but no tracking sheet. The note mentions that I needed to fill out the paperwork and the lead testing results are on a specific page in the medical record. She sifts through the empty papers looking for what, I don't know, and then says it's blank and they couldn't fill out the dental part. I said I know, I just dropped the entire packet off at one time becauseI wasn'tinformedthat I had to fill it out. Then she asks for the completed packet. Now she's comparing page to page for whatever reason and scrolls through the computer. She then advises me that because I checked no to the lead questions and signed, there was no need for the test results to be recorded but they have the results and if I wanted, they could fill it in. At this point it's moot so I say, I just want the packet. She asks if I wanted the blank one too. YES! Why would I stand there all of this unnecessary time and not get both packets that I have asked for? Every interaction had was with a different person, so I'm led to believe that this place is just disorganized. Does everyone not know the protocol for paperwork completion? I was given piece by piece here and there and that's very frustrating. I may return for next year, I may not."
"All doctors in this office are excellent. They are very knowledgeable and careful. Just like all other pediatric offices, this office is very busy and little hard to make last minute appointment(sick appointment), but everything else is excellent."
"I never have any issues there is always appointments. The nurses are amazing. They call right back off for referrals so quickly. Their website is great. Their portal is great and the doctors are amazing and the admin staff is also so friendly so patient and so nice I cannot tell you how many visits I have had with my children and their situation or illness never worsens because they Nippet in the bud quickly Howard County pediatrics is the best I strongly recommend them. We moved & still drive the 40 minutes to this office because every doctor is just wonderful. Dr. McKay is patient & understanding & so knowledgeable.
