They are great landlords, professional and extremely responsive. Anytime there was an issue or a repair was needed, they took care of it immediately. Communication was great, and everyone was consistently warm, friendly and helpful."

"I moved 3 times in my first 1.5 years in Pitt because every place was either run-down, extremely expensive for poor quality, or had poor/corrupt management. Then I found this beautifully restored Pittsburgh home for such reasonable rent by Steel Town, and got such great vibes from management that I stayed there my last 3.5 years in Pitt. It was such a relief to find a stable home. Never had an issue with switching roommates on leases; Lisa (and Mark!) is so responsive, helpful, and professional. For immediate maintenance, like storm damage that threatened our roof, someone was right there that morning, and when I needed to move elsewhere, Steel Town rapidly responded to the referral which made my moving process so much easier. They rent well-taken care of properties, they are hands on when you need them, and they do not invade privacy or micro-manage otherwise. Cannot recommend this rental company enough for what they do/who they are."

"Mark Fitchner and the staff of Steel Town Rentals are amazing! My husband and I rented from them for 7 years and would still be in that property had we not needed to move out of state. The few times we had maintenance requests they were right on top of it, sending "qualified" technicians to do the job. When we fell on hard times (my husband had a major back surgery and could not work for a season) Mark believed in us and worked with us to ensure we could stay in our home. When the Pandemic hit, all tenants got an email stating that late fees would be waived and if income was affected by the pandemic the tenants could call the office and they would work with them. Who does that? We give a 2 thumbs up to Steel Town Rentals and recommend anyone looking to rent check out one of their units."

"The Better Business Bureau doesn't even recognize you as a company, so how can you be trusted. I was contacted by one of their realtors to fill out an application and pay the $25 fee, then I was told I would recieve a refund if i didn't like the rental after seeing it. They had taken the rental down because "the girl living there wouldn't let anyone in to see it.". Then I got a vague message I dont meet criteria for the rental, the realtor I was in contact with told me to get a cosigner to fill out another application with a fee of $25 dollars. Aaron didn't even know I had a cosigner, talk about unprofessionalism. My cosigner makes 6x the amount of rent for a month and a credit score of 759, not to mention I make 2x the amount of the rent for a month. I have excellent references from previous landlords and no evictions. Everytime I called aaron or lisa were busy, then I would get a vague message I still dont meet criteria. Oh then I was told the previous renter had COVID. I drove by the house two weeks previously it was vacant. The number they were texted me from was not a pittsburgh number it was almost like a burner number. I still have not got an answer on why I dont meet criteria. YOU NEVER TOLD ME HOW I DIDNT MEET THE CRITERIA BUT TOOK MY MONEY FOR APPLICATION FEES!!!"
