"Stefan's is wonderful; great craftsmen! extremely pleasant and reasonable; high quality work - very highly recommend"
"I had a really frustrating experience with this repair shop. I’d originally brought my business here because of the positive reviews I’d seen online. While not their issue, I did live quite a bit away from this shop so getting there and back was a bit of a pain - but worth it in my mind for their services. I paid $70 to have straps to a bag repainted. I was told it would be a week and that I would be contacted when ready. A week passes by, and i don’t hear from the shop. I try calling - no answer despite shop hours indicating the store is open. I then follow-up the next week - still no answer. Week 3 I take my lunch break to come by the shop to pick up my bag (they close by the time get off work). To my surprise… they hadn’t even touched the bag…I was quite peeved as I was told the repair time would only be a week. Another week (week 4) passes and I call twice this week bc my call was not answered and obviously not returned - I’m told they finally put the final coat down and are waiting for it to dry. I picked up my bag today - and I’m again, quite disappointed bc I expected given my troubles and the amount of time they had to repair my bag - That the repair would be done nicely. While I appreciate the color matching, the application seems quite sloppy and rushed. They also just painted over the original peeling paint - I specifically asked them to not do this. I’d advise anyone who plans on coming here to expect long wait times and below average quality of work. I wish I’d just gone to my original leather repair shop up in Ronald Park because at least there the cobbler is very realistic with what can and cannot be done they also don’t take a month to process orders said to be completed in a weeks time. It is my understanding that half way through the time by bag had been in Stefan’s possession that they entered into their reduced vacation hours. This was not expressed to me until I physically brought myself into the store and was raging over why my repairs still hadn’t been done. My frustration could had been minimized had they repressed this upfront."
"I have a nice leather belt that had become way to large on me. They said they could cut it and reinstall the buckle. I decided to bring my two pairs of dress shoes in too to get cleaned up. They initially said up to a week. I'm a musician and needed at least the black ones back asap, especially since they were only being cleaned, noting else. They got the belt and both pairs of shoes done in 24 hours for me! Thank you!"
"Have a pair of boots that needed new soles. Took them here 6 weeks ago to be repaired. After a week, I got them back with new half soles stitched to the front and glued at the arch to the original sole. Within 4 days of use, the new soles had peeled nearly completely off on both boots. I took them back and the staff was very apologetic and offered to fix them again for no additional cost. After 3 weeks, I called to ask after my boots and they had been sent out to another cobbler to be repaired. Got them back after a total 3.5 week wait for the second repair. That was Monday. It's Thursday and the photo is what the glued seam looks like after 2 days of wear. Taking them back again, I asked for a refund on the work. The woman offered to bring them to her outsourced cobbler again but after two tries, I'm done. She then told me she couldn't provide a refund because she needed the owner's approval and he wasn't in and couldn't be contacted right now. They have since contacted me to provide the refund. Took them to a different shop, where they explained that of course the glue wouldn't hold. The remaining sole was plastic and too far gone to provide a good surface to glue them to. The whole sole should have been replaced. Definitely would not recommend anyone taking shoes here for repair as they don't seem to know what they are doing."
