"Very dirty property, poorly managed, trash everywhere. When I moved in there was still trash in my apartment from the previous tenant. I informed the office and all they did was apologize. The property itself is always littered in trash because they don't empty the outside trash cans nearly enough. Rent is too expensive for what you get. The buildings aren't taken care of especially the laundry in the basement and the hallways. You can hear everything from your neighbors. If you are trying to find street parking close to your apartment to unload groceries or heavy items good luck. When you tour they show you a display apartment because if they showed you the actual apartments you wouldn't rent here. Don't forget the landlord specialty of painting over rails and hinges in the apartment. Not worth the price at all especially since they keep increasing rent prices. 2 years ago when I moved in the price made sense, now it costs the same as a nice, well managed apartment somewhere else."
"Hoping that interested tenants actually read these reviews prior to making a confirmed decision to move here. I moved to the Alden South Hills Apartment Complex on December 15, 2022. My decision was based on the vision I was sold by one salesman/saleswoman in the leasing office. I was provided with a virtual view of my apartment since I was relocating back to Pittsburgh from 4 hours away. The apartment seemed nice during the virtual tour, so I decided to move forward with signing. Upon moving in I was provided with a 4 page inspection sheet to detail each room’s condition. I completed the inspection sheet and turned it in. Most of the issues I made note of were reviewed. A couple weren’t….my apartment wasn’t actually cleaned before I moved in. Instead…it was painted over and cat hair was left under the paint on top of the breakfast bar near the kitchen where I prepare meals. The window sills were covered in cat hair, there were baby roaches inside of the electric panel and the smoke detectors. Behind the radiators is dirt, debris and most likely bugs. I ask for the breakfast bar to be stripped, cleaned and repainted, but that’s was never done. The cat hair is still there. It’s also painted to several doors as well. Trying to reach anyone to resolve an issue is nearly impossible. An excuse is always made for why things aren’t resolved, or why they’re resolved late. The hallways of the building always smell of dogs urine and overall unpleasantness. There are cigarette butts and cigarette filter on the floor. The neighbors leave shoes and nasty socks in the hallway. They’ve left food on the actual roof and leave the window open in the hallway. The neighbors from the apartment below me make so much noise, you can’t have a moment of peace and quiet. The first neighbor was noisy, but eventually she became courteous enough to understand that she is not the only person living in the building. The newest neighbors are a nuisance. No courtesy under any circumstances. Noise all day and all night. You can’t report noise complaints to the leasing office. You’re told to call the police. In August, the main hallway smelled of natural gas when I returned from shopping for groceries so I called 911. The police officer who showed up for the emergency wasn’t friendly at all. They found 4 gas leaks though. On another occasion, the hot water tank in the basement busted and flooded the basement. On another occasion, a maintenance person entered my apartment unauthorized while I was sleeping naked. There are no cameras on the property. Behind the building where the parking lot is, there’s no security light. Strangers come in the building to your unit to solicit. To conclude, the owners of this apartment complex just want a body in a building to collect rent. Access to a safe and clean living environment are not available if you move here. The main property manager told me in his office that he himself would never live here. Good luck on your journey to finding a safe and clean space to reside. New update: 12/21/2023 Although it seems someone has responded to my initial review with a message, no one has actually responded to me about my concerns and I went into the office as suggested in the reply message to my review. Constant disturbance from the neighbors below me during all hours of the day is what I have to deal with now that I have been automatically renewed into a 12 month lease. Inconsistencies in access to hot water, etc. New update: 1/12/24 The same issues are still ongoing and I’ve been dealing with anxiety issues because of the excessive banging, booming and stomping from the neighbors beneath me. Someone from Aion Management emailed me to arrange a time to discuss my concerns regarding the noise complaints I’ve had. During our discussion, I informed her of my concerns with the constant noise levels that have been going on beneath me and her response was….well that is their home. To put it into plain context it sounds like construction work is going on beneath me throughout the day and sometimes at night."
"I have been here for 4 years now. Back in August I ran into some issues with the apartment I was living in. I told maintenance and the office. Emily (office) and Roger (maintenance) went above and beyond for me and placed my family in a new apartment. It is fully renovated and very nice. The both of them are amazing and always take care of me! The building I live in is clean and safe. I enjoy living here aside from a couple issues I have with other tenants."
"I needed a place fast and a reasonable budget. JAY one of the agents helped me through my entire leasing process and made it very easy . He toured me and showed me a few places he thought that I would like based on what I told him. He actually cares and gets things done immediately you don’t have to wait on him for anything and very reliable. 10/10 experience with him. Highly recommend Jay at the Alden."
"There was a leak in my bathroom and the ceiling collapsed due to the leak and destroyed my bathroom and personal items. It was tough getting a hold of them at first but once we figured out the issue the Residential property company and maintenance team were incredibly helpful and responsive. They were able to resolve the issue and provide reimbursement for which I am thankful . Jay was very helpful and cool throughout the whole process."
