Reviews of 1st Ave Lofts
"My boyfriend and I have lived here for a few months now and love our apartment, however there are a few reasons we will be leasing elsewhere when our lease ends: • When we moved in, in early July, we were put on a "parking waitlist" and told that spots should open up by August. However, now in early January, I had to send my car back to parents house (luckily I work from home) and my boyfriend pays around $700/month to park in a nearby parking garage. Still with no word from the leasing office about when we'd receive at least one spot in their 10 spot parking area. • The "gym" is non existent and consists of two pieces of equipment: a rusted cable/peck fly machine and a broken treadmill. Why not just turn that entire rooftop space into a gym with basic equipment? • The elevator breaks frequently, leaving us to haul our hand full of groceries up 8 flights of a narrow staircase (not to mention those who rely on the elevator because of illness/disability) • Our apartment looks a bit different than we had anticipated. The one issue we have had is the floors. From the listings online, we believed we were getting wood/laminate floors throughout our apartment. When we moved in, we found the not only was the floor concrete, but it was hazardous/sharp in some places and covered in a chipping blue-ish grey paint. Overall, we chose to live here because of the beautiful renovations and a somewhat reasonable price. The view out of our one bedroom overlooks both the river and the city, truly breath taking. However the money we've paid in other expenses (parking at a garage, gas to drive Planet Fitness) can be used towards rent in the future at a property that has space for parking and an adequate gym. Again, it's a shame because we truly love our apartment."
"This place is wonderful. There are no dog pee in the hallways like in my past experiences in apartments. There is Thai food, right next to the apartment building, and the apartments are spacious and have good views from your apartment. You can see the river and station Square at least in my experience. I recommend this place and I think it deserves five stars."
"Our time at first ave lofts was unforgettable, and not in a good way, the apartment was decent, high ceilings but that’s it. Kitchen was small, washer/dryer was one unit so small loads only that never was dry the first time. The “rooftop” being a gym is just a joke. The elevator was constantly breaking causing us to have to walk up 8 flights of stairs. The parking lot maybe can fit 10 cars, and is definitely not private, make sure to lock your car/s! For the ridiculous price of these apartments just find a different places, the other reviews seems like they payed the people to leave good reviews, that is not the reality of living there."
"We enjoyed our time at 1st Ave Lofts, a very convenient location in downtown Pittsburgh, you can walk almost everywhere. Our apartment had a beautiful view of Mt. Washington, Station Square, the historic Smithfield Street Bridge and Monongahela River with all the river boats etc. The building is not too big, thus easy in and easy out and most importantly you have your own parking lot!"
"Quiet street Downtown, amazing views of Mt. Washington, Emerald Park and Downtown. I have hosted parties up in the common area penthouse lounge - it's indoor/outdoor in case it rains and has a bathroom. There's a cool art gallery sometimes open downstairs."
