Trojan Diner and Sports Bar

"The diner was recommended by the girl at the hotel when I asked at the front desk, and it looked busy when I drove by the first time, usually a good sign. It's a pretty typical diner with a big menu, all day breakfast, and a big cake display. They also call it a combo sports bar so there are TVs with various sports on. One lady was really loud, but it had a typical noise level. The menu entrees looked a little expensive, but came with a soup or salad and 2 sides, so I didn't think it was bad. I chose baked "fresh" flounder, lobster bisque, mac n cheese, and California veggie mix. The lobster bisque looked and tasted canned, made with canned lobster, was a weird color, and way too thick. My fish was overcooked and completely lacked seasoning or flavor. The veggies looked canned, or had been cooked until they lacked color and flavor. The mac n cheese can only be described as gloppy. It was like eating reheated glue. I was exhausted from a long day of traveling so I ate the fish, the soup and a few bites of the mac n cheese. No one checked on me until I "finished" my meal, but I told them it wasn't good, and they offered me dessert! On my way out, one of the people I had told the food was bad invited me back the next morning and said, "Our breakfast IS good." No thanks."

"Extensive menu including children and senior menus. All day breakfast menu. Quiet atmosphere to relax and enjoy your meal. Service was excellant, and the food was very good. Great place to take the family."

"The food was super yummy: I had stuffed French toast with strawberries on top. Perfectly gooey and warm creme cheese in it. Omelets were good and unique with potatoes, peppers, and cheese melted on top. They have several omelettes to choose from. Many options for breakfast. Also, they feature on their menu the local famous cinnamon rolls. I recommend this family restaurant."

"My dad son and I visited here for dinner. Good crab cakes and good ice tea. My son and I both liked them. I brought my second one home for leftovers, and my wife and daughter liked them as well. My dad had the spaghetti with meatballs, and he said that the sauce had good flavor and was better and a little cheaper than recent other ones that he had at other places. The house or garden salads that we had, however, seemed like they were possibly pre-made, and the lettuce was kinda brown. The restaurant was clean and well maintained, and the service was good, with the exception of the leak from the air conditioner vent, which was probably just condensation because it was so hot out that day. Overall, it was a good restaurant experience."
