Reviews of Slippery Rock Apartments
"Great office and maintenance people! The Martha Rose Apartment buildings are old and need updated/cleaned/repaired, but the price is great, so I'm good with the status quo. My MAIN complaint is the parking!! I asked for a handicapped parking spot, but due to regulations, was unable to get one, no real problem...BUT, the other tenants cannot park well at all, leading to many, many frustrations. There are some days I will not even go out anywhere because I will not have a place to park when I return. I can parallel park with just six inches in the front and back of me, but the other parkers are terrible!! I AM going to ask for a designated spot to be painted for me, though, because I AM disabled and need to be near the back door. I cannot carry things up three flights of stairs, like I would have to do if I parked in the "front" of the building. Quiet place, surprisingly, too! Watch out for what the dog owners leave behind if you're walking in the grass, though, or you, too, will ruin your shoes...Ewww!"
"Daughter lived there while attending SRU. Located right across the road from the university. Upfront pricing-no surprises and very affordable. No charge for parking permits and the office people are very helpful. Had zero issues. Liked it wasn't owned by a big corp and you didn't have to jump through hoops to speak to someone."
"My roommate and I REALLY loved living here, we’ve been gone a year now and still talk about it. The apartments themselves aren’t much, but they have a lot of potential and the staff is incredibly friendly. I always had a parking spot next to my apartment and the apartment was nice and warm in the winter without the electric bill going through the roof. The staff was always SO nice and knew everyone’s name, they were very professional when entering the apartment for inspections and giving notices. I’m trying to leave the most honest of reviews, but the only thing negative I have to say is that sometimes you have to report an issue a few times depending what it is. When we first moved into our apartment our dishwasher wasn’t working great, the office explained it was hard water. I pressed it until someone came to look, come to find out our dishwasher was installed wrong. They were very nice about the situation and apologized. I wanted to be mad but really couldn’t, slippery rock does have really hard water and I’m sure they get a lot of complaints about the water marks from kids who have never experienced Hard water before. Honestly though, I’ve lived in the most luxurious, expensive apartments on campus, nothing beats this place."
"My time spent living in Pine Glenn while at Slippery Rock University was a great experience. My apartment never had problems, was nice and cozy, and was the perfect size to share with one roommate. It is crazy to think about the amount of money that I saved living here for 3 years compared to the other crazy expensive apartment options around town. I would recommend this to anyone living to live off campus. The complex is in a central location and close enough to walk to campus no problem. Trust me, I walked to class every day for 3 years and had no issues (even when it was snowing). Live here and enjoy a simple, decently quiet, and cheap apartment."
"Never had any big problems the two years I resided at Pine Glenn. There were some interior blemishes like water stains on the ceiling, that did leak a few times but maintenance was always on top of things and fixed it the day of. You definitely get what you pay for- No AC due to it being a fairly old complex but the rent was one of the cheapest in the area. Management was always very nice. Only problem was I was charged for some things that broke due to how old they were- the blinds broke the first time we pulled the string in each room- the towel racks fell out of the wall after only being used a couple months. They need so do some cosmetic updates but otherwise the price was worth it."
