"Horrible Horrible place. Called a month ago and asked for a certain product we needed for a project to be held. Went in a couple days ago to pay for it and to arrange delivery and to pick up a couple other items. 1 1/2 hours later; first, the original salesman never came out to see me, I was passed off from inside sales to first day clerks 4 times. Each time to someone who knew less than the last. So, drop $1,000 on my $2,500 order and left expecting delivery 2 days later. The day of delivery I call to find out what time I can expect a delivery, after waiting 4 hours and after being hung up on, I called back and this time I was only passed off once. I asked for the salesman, and I got the manager. Great I thought! I'll get somewhere. No. I was told they don't deliver to where I needed it to go. Manager tells me that the salesman tries to call us last week twice and couldn't leave a message. Since I left my number with delivery instructions and the name of my company which has a web site, I found this to be a feckless excuse. I drove an hour each way to make arrangements with them for the product, plus the 1 1/2 hour there. 1/2 day. Then I drove 2 1/2 hours with 3 men to install said product on the expected day and after sitting for 4 hours had to drive back another 2 1/2 hours. So thank you Jager Madison for costing me $2K and a day on my schedule and so I leave the customer with un unfinished space for another week while we order this product through more reliable lumberyard."

"As one who has remodeled 6 house I have some experience with contractors and suppliers Without a doubt Jaeger Lumber is the worst supplier I have ever dealt with. More specifically the kitchen department (so called manager) could have cared less about their order. When a meeting was requested to discuss the issues she was unable to meet in the morning because it was too early for her to get up! She was arrogant and unprofessional-I attended the meeting To review: My daughter ordered a kitchen from them in good faith. They came and measured-not so good…. Their were 2 walls that were measured incorrectly. One was of by 9” and the other was off by 18”. With these measurements they ordered the replacement cabinets. When these cabinets arrived the installer noticed that the cabinets were the wrong size again After contacting Jaeger about the error their response was anyone can make a mistake. Not the correct response! They then tried to contact the president but he was always unavailable or on vacation. He was in hiding be that is to be expected because his father built the business and he was too good to talk to an unhappy customer They reordered the cabinets only to later learn that they ordered the wrong cabinets again Seriously…. They took little responsibility for their errors and offered minimum compensation. Their errors caused monthly delays with all of the subcontractors This is a young family with 3 kids under 5 years of age. Living out of the basement for 2 months is not acceptable If you want a responsible and professional kitchen cabinet supplier do not use Jaeger If anyone wants to learn more please contact me"

"Jaeger was the only lumber yard in the region that took time to help me order my custom decking. There were other sellers who quoted higher with delivery times months later. Jaeger got me all my decking, rails, and accessories within weeks. Jon Roland (JR) is an experienced and knowledgeable salesman. He helped every step of the way and went above and beyond when I thought I ordered the wrong color haha. The Timbertech sales rep was at my door in an hour. Sorry JR! All around great local business to support!!!"

"Really hit or miss with the staff here. Last time I shopped at Jaeger Lumber for PVC shiplap and moldings the staff was very quick and helpful. Today I stopped by to inquire about a tread part for my stairs and shop for the barn doors, the guy at pro desk got visibly exasperated, without even trying to look up the part said they don’t carry anything like this and then made a comment about the door as if I’m visibly unable to afford a $700 custom order door. Pretty poor customer service."

"I had good experience with Jaeger Lumber for my initial sale but today has put me over the edge. Two weeks ago I went into Jaeger Lumber in Madison and ordered 11 decking boards to replace parts of my deck. I could not take them with me so I set up delivery for two days later (the earliest they had). In that time, Jaeger sold out of all their wood instead of putting my order aside. I received a call on the delivery day to say that they did not have it in stock because they sold it. The employee told me that he was sorry and didn't know what happened and would take care of it. Fast forward to today, when I called and asked for answers to which I was hung up on because the person who answered the phone did not want to deal with my problem. He suggested I call back and talk to the original sales person. This is no way to conduct business on any level. First they should not have sold the wood. Second, the way the person I spoke with me on the phone was unacceptable. His only response was we have no wood and neither does anyone in New Jersey. Finally, there has only been a sorry from the original sales person. I'm not looking for a handout, but an answer as to why it was sold would have been nice. If you are looking for a smaller amount of something, Jaeger may not be the place for you because it seems as though they are interested in contractors and large orders."
