"NOT EVEN A SINGLE STAR!! I had worked with Lisa for several years and decided to file with her for the 2021 tax season. The issue arose when I received my tax return in the mail outlining I needed to sign a few pages and then mail them out myself. Apparently I was mistaken when I thought the e-signature they collected was all that was needed to be able to mail in my return. My appointment was on 3/15 and I was unaware I had not concluded the process till I received the packet on 4/1. When I contacted the office I spoke with Brad asking why I received this in the mail and why I was just getting this documentation weeks later. I was also confused because 1) I didn’t know why I was receiving this 2) it ONLY instructed me which pages to sign and nothing outlining what portion of these forms would need to be mailed to the Department of Treasury or the Division of Taxation. Brad seemed willing to help and explained he would reach out to Lisa saying if it needed to be mailed he could almost guarantee Lisa would have mailed it. I just wanted to understand why this wasn’t completed by the office as I hired them to complete a service not expect it to fall back on me. I assumed my $300 payment for 10 minutes of Lisa’s time to prepare the documents would also include mailing my tax documents in a timely fashion. I assume this “upset” him as I was then called almost immediately by Lisa who seemed somewhat agitated as she proceeded to explain why I received this documentation back. IF THE PROCESS WAS EXPLAINED TO ME DURING MY VISIT I would have known to expect this packet. If I knew the process there would be no need for me to hire an accountant to complete my taxes. After her explanation she stated she didn’t know what my “attitude” was about on my phone call with Brad but apparently had an issue with my call and this phone call gauged her remark that “I should find a new accountant next year”. If there was a capability to listen to my call with Brad and then listen to the call I received from Lisa I wonder who would have appeared to have an “attitude”. I thought we had a decent conversation and cannot understand what left him so upset-maybe my question as to what did I pay for if now I have to finish filing my return myself. Apparently customer service is not a priority and if anyone was unprofessional it was not me and I am disappointed with her behavior. NOT ONLY will I find another accountant-I will suggest all my friends & family members who are current clients find another one too. Last time I need a return mailed it was mailed out 3 weeks after my appointment. Now I find out 2 weeks later I need to finish this one myself. If this accountant is representing your firm and their lack of unprofessional is allowed not only will I not refer anyone to her it’s a blemish on the entire firm. Ironically I gave her a review 3 years ago."
