"THE worst mistake I've ever made was going to this so-called accountant.. what a joke this guy is.. still waiting for mistakes he made in 2016 to be corrected.. I have lost SO MUCH MONEY because of this jerk. He doesn't 'do callbacks', so forget about any sort of integrity on his end.. there isn't any. Richard Lance, I've called your office dozens and dozens and dozens of times.. I want every single penny I paid to you returned to me.. you did Nothing but create disaster, RICHARD LANCE. You Did Not provide the Service you were paid for.. you have done NOTHING to even attempt Cleaning up your mess.. I want my money back. Taking my money on your self statement of being a professional is a LIE and I want my money returned to me! To not return it would be an act of theft on your part as you provided Nothing as promised.. only headaches and numerous examples that prove your ineptness. RETURN MY MONEY Update 2023.. STILL TRYING TO GET MY TAXES CORRECTED AFTER GOING TO RICHARD LANCE 5 YEARS AGO!! STILL ALSO WAITING ON THE REIMBURSEMENT OF 'HIS FEE' (WHICH BY THE WAY, ENDED UP BEING OVER $300, EVEN THOUGH I WAS TOLD THE FEE WOULD BE $85!) ***UPDATE - JANUARY 2024*** I AM STILL TRYING TO GET MY TAXES CORRECTED AFTER GOING TO RICHARD LANCE 6 YEARS AGO!!!!!!!!!!"

"While the support staff is lovely, the Accountant, Richard Lance, is completely incompetent, unreliable and refuses to even hear about the mistakes he has made and the damage he has caused. **I went to him in 2018 and am STILL waiting for $$ and the IRS to figure out what the heck he did wrong. AND TRUST ME.. DON'T BELIEVE HIS WHOLE SONG AND DANCE ABOUT HAVING COVID, BEING HOSPITALIZED, ON A VENT.. BLAH BLAH BLAH... HE SCREWED ME OVER LOOOOONG BEFORE COVID, SO ITS JUST ANOTHER EXCUSE ON HIS PART.. I've had COVID 5 times.. so apples to apples.. his little vacation at the hospital was a stunt, no doubt.. that's what people like this do... Lie. Cheat. Steal."

"By far the worst experience I ever had doing my taxes,Rich was a complete jerk,they couldn't handle this year's volume of clients and as a result their was gross negligence of customer information,because attentiveness took back seat to greed my federal tax return is completely lost,Rich and the " so called" tax experts made several clerical errors that im still months later trying to correct to get my own money back,and of course I called Rich for help the correct his mistake and he basically told me that's its my problem now and kick rocks,I am provider of two children and I work full time and then some to make a good life for them and of course Rich knows that,but that means nothing to him,money is is first,beware if you call him too many times because he messed your taxes up he may also charge you for the calls behind your back and bill you for it,never again"

"My family and I just moved to the area and we needed an accountant. We had our taxes done this past year for the first time and the process was quick and easy. Mr.Lance explained all of my options and had my return done by direct deposit. Thanks again 1040 Tax !!!!"

"I am very disappointed in the service provided by Richard and his staff at 1040 Tax Service. I received a letter from the IRS regarding my 2014 tax return which he had prepared . It was discovered that the letter was for interest that wasn't reported in my 2014 return. when he prepared my taxes this year, he informed me that the IRS would deduct what I owed them from this year's refund. He discarded the letter from the IRS. When my refund hit my account, it was for my full refund. Nothing was deducted. When I called the office for their assistance, I kept getting the run around. I was informed that I needed to call the IRS to correct the problem and was told to "keep hitting buttons to I reach a live person." I paid to have my taxes done by a professional, so that if a problem like this arises, they would take care of it for me. Next year, I will do my taxes through Turbo Tax or H & R Block. This experience was a real eye opener. Save your time.and money!! Have your taxes done elsewhere."
