"Edit to add: We are now in the process of filing a complaint with the Pennsylvania licensing system. It is clear at this point that MTAK is not going to provide us the services we paid for. After I posted this review originally on 5/15/23, MTAK asked how they can remedy the issues outlined below. We told them we'd like them to provide the services we paid for. They offered us an Amazon gift card. They also offered to schedule a carpenter to come fix our improperly installed cabinets. HOWEVER, soon after, they stopped giving updates, have not scheduled the carpenter to come out, and have not given us an update on ordering the replacement parts from the manufacturer. MTAK has showed their true colors, ghosting us again and again. ————— My family hired MTAK for a kitchen remodel in Oct. 2022 and had a nightmare experience. I am writing this review now because one of our drawers broke during normal use today (only six months after install), which was the last straw for me. My primary issues with MTAK were 1) terribly subpar quality of work, and 2) ZERO communication from our project manager Jake and the owner Miranda to try and resolve our issues. Top examples include: Abysmal Work Quality and Attention to Detail: 1. MTAK’s crews installed new outlets at different heights across our kitchen. 2. The crews left piles of trash on our back deck for weeks, which was not only unsightly but also a potential hazard, showing a complete lack of respect for our property or basic cleanliness/safety. 3. MTAK moved our dishwasher’s power to an outlet behind our new cabinets, even though before, we had a direct connection. This voided the warranty of our dishwasher, as they had to cut the power cord and splice on an adapter. Not cool. 4. The cabinets themselves look like they were installed hastily. Our new lazy susan door does not close without force, multiple drawer faces are crooked, and there are huge gaps between some doors. 5. We had to re-caulk around the sink and the whole back wall because the installers left massive gaps that looked terrible. 6. We purchased a garbage disposal for our new sink, but the crew installed their own disposal and hauled away our new one. Even though they gave us a credit for the disposal we bought, again, this showed a lack of attention to detail on our order. 7. IMPORTANTLY – the hot water was not working for days after install, even though no valves were turned off. In addition to this, the P-trap was leaking and the gentleman came out to “fix it” twice. After the third time, we demanded an actual plumber come out to fix this, and not just MTAK’s general contractor. The installers clearly did not test our water connection before leaving the job site. Empty Promises and Lack of Communication: 1. Project Manager Jake ordered some wrong parts including a cabinet blind instead of a lazy susan. We were out of the country during part of this remodel project (which MTAK knew), and clearly Jake was not checking on the deliveries or install progress while we were gone. The cabinets arrived the day after we left, and it was not discovered we had some wrong cabinets until we returned a week and a half later. Had anyone at MTAK bothered to do an inspection upon arrival, this would have been a non-issue. 2. The installers left a gouge in the sink cabinet door, and did not replace it or give us any touch up paint. When we brought it up, the owner Miranda promised to give us touch up paint but never did. 3. Miranda also promised to provide us with a missing shelf for one of our cabinets, but never did. 4. MOST IMPORTANTLY - Miranda, Jake, and the whole MTAK team showed no accountability for our numerous concerns about the remodel project. They failed to remedy our issues, and instead completely ghosted us at the end of the project. MTAK’s abysmal customer service and nonexistent attention to detail were honestly embarrassing. I would only recommend MTAK to my worst enemies, so that hopefully their experience would be as hair-pulling as ours was."
