Bornemann Building
About the Business
The Bornemann Building is a university located at 917 Bornemann Road in Reading, Pennsylvania, United States. It is home to the Holleran Center for Community and Global Engagement, which was established in 2006 by Dr. Thomas Flynn with a vision of integrating students' coursework and co-curricular activities with the mission and values of the University.
Thanks to a generous gift from T. Jerome and Carolyn Holleran in 2008, the Center received $3 million in funding to enhance its work in the Reading community and to establish an endowment. Community service is deeply rooted in Alvernia's Catholic, Franciscan foundation, and the Center provides students with opportunities to use their talents to help those in need and support local nonprofit organizations.
The Holleran Center for Community and Global Engagement at the Bornemann Building aims to cultivate and sustain partnerships that strengthen both campus and community life. By integrating community partnerships into the curriculum, the Center strives to fulfill the University's mission and improve the quality of life in the community, while instilling in students a lifelong commitment to service as engaged citizens.
