"Why is Fastenal the only store that you can't walk in and buy something? Some are a fulfilment center and others you need an appointment! I just don't understand it. It's almost as if they don't want or care about you as a customer. It's a shame too because prior to covid this was the place to go if needed a random bolt or two that broke while you were working on something."

"If you are a small business owner or are just starting out do not go to these people. They only want your business if you are a multi-million dollar company and match their no-personality attitude. I went there to check on ordering one of the tool brands they carry and ask about warranty claims….if you didn’t buy it there, even though they carry it and can replace it for you, forget it. Claims must be supplemented by a receipt and your account number, might as well include your birth certificate, and the weather report on the date of original purchase. They make it hard for you to succeed if you are just starting out and would maybe want to set up an account. I will take my business elsewhere and support local, family-owned small businesses, as you should too."
