Reviews of Giuseppe & Sons
"Absolutely delicious place to go for happy hour. We were there exactly when they opened so we got a great seat at the bar. Service was prompt and attentive and the food for happy hour was fantastic. Portions were a great size for the price and very tasty. Would absolutely go back to try dinner.. got every appetizer that they had but the meatballs and the ricotta toast really shined together. The Caesar salad was huge for the price and also fantastic.. Great place to go for happy hour affordable price with really good food"
"Went to celebrate a friends birthday and food was great. However, as service was a bit slow to start, we had asked if bread would be coming out and our waiter gave a quite sassy response about how we were “rushing his process”. We were just hungry. He also advised that the appetizers were big, and meant to be shared among our 6 person table. Then each appetizer comes out with 3 servings each, (see picture of Prosciutto) not very shareable. Went to the bathroom and watched two female employees leave without washing their hands. And, as we had mentioned it was a birthday and everyone had acknowledged it, a bit surprised that no birthday treat was given or let us know so we could get a dessert, especially the price we paid for 6 people to dine. **Based on the other reviews, it seems like our specific waiter was the reason for this experience, not the establishment **"
"This reminds me of the newsies, which were hidden subterranean clubs that people used to sneak into and have a good time. This place has a great vibe for drinks. The greatest dish was the Caesar salad, and the garlic bread tasted great, too. At best, the entrée of gnocchi, calamari, and spinach was mediocre. It was enjoyable to converse with everyone at this large party that we brought here for restaurant week. The restaurant had a subdued, romantic atmosphere."
"First time patron. We were celebrating my daughter’s birthday. The food was good, everything is $$$ Al-la-cart. The service was amazing; the staff checked on us and accommodated our request. While, I gave five stars. It’s important to note that they have this wonderful bread basket. However, no one made us aware that one of the breads had pork in it; it was pepperoni. We do not as a family or in our culture eat pork, and it was a little surprising that that wasn’t mentioned, or even inquired about as the menu was given us, or as the waitress took our order; just be careful if you have dietary restrictions. I ordered the chicken Milanese.. while it was good and I did give (five) stars the chicken was a bit over cooked. The rigatoni was great a little Parmesan Cheese would have made it better. My daughter ordered the sea bass and was well pleased. Great place for celebrating… we went around happy hour on a Monday and the place was full of patrons. Seating and service was quick. Lovely Ambience….Basement level…there is a elevator ( hidden), I say this, because if you have some mobility issues, you might wanna inquire about how to get to the elevator from the inside going down, we found out about it from the inside as we were coming up."
"I really don’t have anything bad to say about this place. My boyfriend and I were trying to decide between 5 different potential dining options for visiting Philly and I’m so glad we chose this one. Reasonable prices, great atmosphere, and even better food. The bread is exquisite, it comes with three different kinds which is cool since it’s different than other Italian places I’ve been to. I got the hand pulled mozzarella for my appetizer and they prepped it at the table for me which was awesome to watch. Definitely will be back the next time I visit!"
