Reviews of Acting Naturally
"I was in the crew in a play for my school. The owner, who ran the play, was rude to everyone and especially to the crew. Whenever we had a problem she just said to “figure it out”. When we painted the sets every Saturday she was never there. Not. One. Time. Everyone else in the play would agree with me. We all had to be talked out of quitting by her, and to be honest we only stayed because people already payed for tickets. My first theatre experience would have been great if not for her. She made this not worth my time."
"Did a play with this company- it was a very stressful experience. The director ignored us often and was rude to us for no reason. She told the assistant that she couldn’t tell actors the line if they forgot. What was supposed to happen? Would we just stand there? When someone made one simple mistake, she would sit there and scold them, or even when they did what they were supposed to. Do not send your kids here, this is what happens behind the scenes. Literally."
"My daughter has been going there a lot but not as often as other kids have been going. She wanted a main part in the play and all she got was 3 sentences and was in the ensemble. She was not happy. The owner tends to give the main characters to the kids who go there all the time! My kid has been in a show every summer for the past 3 years. 425 bucks for 1 week!! And the owner of the place does not put on the air-conditioning as much as it should be. We are dealing with a heat wave right now!! My kid told me the owner feels that the air is to noisy and no one can hear the kids when they are acting! Well invest in better microphones. Let the kids where the little face microphones then you would not have that issue and you can turn up your condition! Not good for elderly people who come see their grandkids!"
"I've been sending my children to Acting Naturally for years. What the talented are experienced staff are able to accomplish in such a short amount of time is nothing short of remarkable! My oldest daughter was fortunate enough to be selected for the Youth Company and she still talks about the NYC weekend as one of the "best times of her life" (she's 16 now). Through Wendy's connections, the kids had the opportunity to meet and work with 4 Broadway performers (one of whom won a Tony Award). Top notch training and theatre at a low cost!"
"I really wanted to give this program more stars. I had such high hopes. My son was in the 10 week 5-7 year old class. I know this is just a beginners class and an intro into acting but wow. Each week I waited for them to build on and learn a little more, but to me it seemed that all they did was sing doe a deer, freeze dance, and do a 30 second silly dance at the end of their 10 weeks. Luckily this hasn’t discouraged my son from still wanting to act, but I am knowing 150 dollars was spent on not much. And to make matters even worse, the director, maybe owner of the school, was there every week, but she never even said hello or taught the kids. They were taught my teenagers. On the second to last week, the children did put on a small performance singing to us... yep you guessed it doe a deer!! Parents were excited to film their children and to see what they had accomplished in the 10 weeks. The owner scolded us and said no cameras. We do not have permission to film these children. Come on lady no one cares, but what they do care about is capturing their children’s performance. On the last class, she finally spoke one last time, but it was to scold me, a 40 year old woman, for having an iced coffee in the lobby. Apparently this was a rule that was unbeknownst to any of us parents being that we drank coffee every Saturday morning in the lobby while waiting for our kids. She never noticed this since she never made an attempt to even try and communicate with us parents or get to know us. Then after my scolding she announced this is the last class. If anyone wants to sign up for the next session you are welcome to today... a no thanks!"
