"I was placed here a few times. The first time I was here I had been homeless. They let girls beat other smaller girls up when they didn't like them. My 2nd time I stayed for a month and had seen a lot of favoritism among the staff towards certain girls. My 3rd time I was in quarantine, given no sheets, blankets, body wash and was unable to shower. I left 2 days after while having a second ankle monitor on me and had found out i had gotten lice."

"I have nothing bad to say about this place. I was always informed promptly by staff if there were challenges. My interaction with the staff has been positive they have been helpful and consistent respectful and professional. I am grateful for the services that my family received through Carson Valley school."

"The Staff Need To Be Fired! CHILDREN ARE NOT SAFE!!!!! Protocols Aren't Followed! They Treat These Vulnerable Children Like They Aren't Loved And Don't Have Family That Care! "With first hand experience, I found that carson valley is very unprofessional and frankly a disappointment in several areas. I could give their main campus the benefit of the doubt concerning housing and school buildings (as the middle school is rather shanty) because the state cares little for fostercare finances; but I cannot look past the disrespectful and usually impatience or unsympathetic staff members. I will say that some of their workers seem to attempt their jobs, or try to understand the mental stress that the children have experienced, and these staff members seem to recieve backlash when confronting many of the higherups. These members tend to leave rather quickly as well, because they are often met with negative mindsets and a lack of empathy towards their passion to help the children. I will also add that a vast majority will seemingly group together against the kids and will even share information about their situations as well (which violets their privacy rights in PA). Besides this, I've found that living under CVCA care is extremely discriminatory towards anyone other than African American or Latino American decent, which I have witnessed first hand. They will do several favors for the children of African American decent, including transportation and financial assistance, but they will blatantly refuse to help Caucasian children with so much as a dollar for the bus. There is a major lack of diversity in both opinions, interpersonal understanding and respect for the children's suffering experienced before and during their stay in fostercare. Not to mention a complete lack of communication between most of the staff members and children, which often results in the child becoming overwhelmed and stressed, as they are yelled at when questioning the reasons for such last minutes protocols. All in all, this place is lacking in several areas and is in need of staff and staff leaders who are willing to both discuss their issues openly and also work with the children to better understand what is needed to create a more professional and respectful environment. One that will actually benefit the children in life during fostercare and after they leave fostercare. I truly wish the best of the children and good staff members who live and work in this company. I really hope they will attempt to solve their issues."
