Reviews of Dolcezza Gelato & Coffee
"Dolcezza: Beyond Gelato Brilliance, a Coffee Dream Tucked away near the luxury allure of 9th and H streets, Dolcezza isn't just a haven for gelato fanatics. It's a coffee connoisseur's hidden gem, a place where meticulous precision meets delicious indulgence. Right from the start, the aroma beckons you in, promising more than just your average caffeine fix. Forget the robotic routine of chain baristas. Here, coffee alchemy is an art form, practiced by skilled professionals who wield steamed milk like paint, crafting latte masterpieces that wouldn't look out of place in a museum. My large latte was a testament to this artistry. The foam, smooth as silk, held a delicate latte art design, a fleeting beauty that added another layer of enjoyment to the sip. But the taste - ah, the taste! Perfectly balanced, rich yet nuanced, it was a symphony of espresso and steamed milk, singing on my tongue long after the last drop. And if, like me, you fall under the spell of this liquid magic, you're not left wanting. Unlike so many shops, Dolcezza sells its coffee beans, inviting you to recreate the experience at home. It's like taking a piece of their passion back with you, a gift that keeps on caffeinating. While the seating area is decent, Dolcezza feels most at home as a grab-and-go delight. But with ample parking nearby, it's easy to linger over your latte, basking in the aroma and admiring the artistry surrounding you. So, the next time you crave a coffee that surpasses the ordinary, seek out Dolcezza. It's a hidden gem nestled amidst the glitz, a place where coffee takes center stage, its brilliance rivaled only by the gelato that shares its name."
"Couldn’t resist going in to have the gelato when I noticed they had a good espresso machine as well. Both the Vanilla Bean Gelato and espresso were great. I do wish they had served sparkling water as a palate cleanser given the accompaniment of Gelato."
"WHOA! We just luck down to this place by accident, tag it! Save it. Coming back here next time I'm in town. I wanted to get an Affagato (right) and my wife got a cappuccino. We love our coffee and appreciate good coffee. This was not good. This was great. No not great. It was amazing. So amazing that I told my army friend he needs to take the general that he works for there while he was in DC for work. All dietary restrictions covered, plenty of options. Gelato to go. I will be here every time I pass through the DC area."
"Come for the gelato, leave because of the freezing cold temperatures. The gelato is really good, lots of nice flavors. It's a bit pricey, but considering the neighborhood, it makes sense. The place is kept super cold inside. So if you want to stay, consider sitting outside."
"So happy to see a place open at night. Beautiful ambiance and the service is great. However, Ordered a Cafe Latte and it was NO good. Flavor was just not there. Asked for extra hot coffee and got mildly warm coffee. The sitting area is lovely and I guess people come here for the Gelato. Will have to try that and update review. But definitely not the coffee. :("
