"Always very helpful. Gives what I think is good advice. If I have concerns he addresses them."
"Doctor Hermann is excellent. He works with you. He is patient even even with me. I recommend him to anybody"
"I have been seeing Dr. Herman for almost a year for my Bipolar II and Anxiety. He is very knowledgeable and he makes everything easy to understand. He makes a point of having us reach out in between appointments to give him updates on how we are feeling and if the meds are working. I was diagnosed as Bipolar II when I was a teenager and Dr. Herman is the first Doctor I have seen since that initial diagnosis that I feel confident in. He is a great Doctor and a very nice person. I’m lucky to have found him and LifeStance in general."
"Dr. Herman is a quirky individual with a unique sense of humor! But honestly his bedside manner is and should be irrelevant when finding a good psychiatrist. You are not looking for someone with empathy, you are looking for a doctor who can help make you feel better through medication management. I would prefer someone like Dr. House over anyone else, and you should too. With that said, Dr. Herman is extremely caring and empathetic. On my first time meeting him I began crying. He told me he could have retired by now but that he is still in practice to help patients like me. I have never had a doctor make me feel so hopeful. Why should you really choose Dr. Herman as your psychiatrist? I have been through countless psychiatrists to try and manage my Bipolar, Panic, ADHD, PTSD and Substance Abuse disorders. When I say countless I have literally lost count but probably around 10 by now. I have felt like a guinea pig and tried medications and different combinations of medications for roughly 21 years now. I have never felt better and more stable than now, after working with Dr. Herman. Dr. Herman listens to your concerns and choosing medications is always a team effort. Dr. Herman also wants you to be educated and provides you with the resources in order to educate yourself. Dr. Herman is not only intelligent but informed and up to date with the current research. To prove this he will actually show you the research during your session. This not only proves that he will take his time during your sessions but that he is well informed. I have never felt rushed while meeting with him. Dr. Herman also gives you various ways you can contact him whether it be by phone or through an online patient portal where you can send him a quick message. I have never had a doctor respond to any of my concerns so quickly. He actually wants you to inform him as to how you are doing between sessions and responds promptly. If you are not doing well he will suggest an appointment sooner than your scheduled appointment to address any concerns. When I have run out of medications he will make sure to send the script for a refill to your pharmacy within the same day. Although I usually only take the time to write negative reviews online I really feel Dr. Herman is worth my time to write a positive review. I cannot suggest a better doctor than Dr. Herman."
"Zero Stars if I could. After two years with Dr. Herman, I am scarred for life. I started with my diagnosis of depression and generalized anxiety, that I’ve had for a decade, and would go through his question list every few months and stayed unchanged. After one day that my coworkers said I was very hyper, Dr. Herman immediately diagnosed me bipolar. I was taken off my SSRI to try Every Single BiPolar Medication Available over the next year. By the end of that year period I had no idea which way was up. I was sobbing uncontrollably at all times and couldn’t parent. New meds every two weeks like that was insane. On top of it he gave me any anxiety med I wanted to the point that I wasn’t safe to drive. My therapist described my movements as like an old woman and apparently repeatedly recommended I reconsider my psychiatrist but I was so full of medication that I didn’t listen or hear. Needless to say, I ended up inpatient and spent ten days being weaned off the ridiculous doses of medication and rediagnosed as depressed. Within three days I was no longer crying, I was smiling and functional and a million times better. The hospital doctors gave me a much better person to see and everything has been great since. I’m even done with therapy. Spectrum with double and triple book you. Dr Herman has no idea who you are. Is he known well in his field? Probably. But a man who writes a paper does not necessarily need a prescription license ."
