Brew House Kentlands

"This place has a lot of potential but falls short on every level other than location and the "home" feel. They serve pre-made microwaved bagels they press on a dirty grill to make it look presentable. Coffee beans are burnt and taste is difficult to cut through unless you use a lot of their syrups, sugar or milk. Pastries seem good but are stored in a refrigerator which typically means they are not fresh and are warmed up, but the texture is rough. Wifi access is not only slow but limited. Customer service could be their saving grace but every time I walked in, it felt as though I was interfering with the staff banter. The bathroom has not been clean when I have gone, the condiment bar is rarely stocked, and the cost of service for what you get is unreasonable. I gave this location more than one chance but it continued to fail me. I like to frequent non commercial coffee shops, but this place is an example of something that could be but is extremely disappointing. After a month of trying this place out, I will no longer return and would not suggest this place to anyone."

"Stopped here on a whim after walking in the Kentlands with a friend for a snack. There was only 1 person working on a Sunday afternoon which was unfortunate. It was busy and a lined formed frequently we observed as we had our food but everyone was patient at least. We both had margaritas and the pretzel w cheese. It hit the spot and we’d come back for happy hour in the future"

"The coffee and baked goods are all that I've tried so far; however, they've been great. I really recommend the white mocha latte. I give a four because their kitchen layout makes it hard for them to service large crowds. During the Oktoberfest Festival, they were mobbed and there's only one setup to grind the beans and one to make lattes. Many of us were waiting for half an hour or more for our coffee. The barrista was working as hard as his caffeine-filled body could but he was only one guy. Also, they don't have a way to order a drink online. Brew House also serves savory meals and alcohol. They often have live music too. It's a wonderful little spot just know that it will take some patience if you go during a Kentlands event. I've been back several times since Oktoberfest and had no problems like that."

"Nice neighborhood coffee shop. Good coffees/lattes and baked items. Too bad the service is lacking. Three Sunday's in a row we were looking forward to a walk to the Brew House for a coffee. Each time, employee took their time before even acknowledging us, then she did help with no smile or even a greeting, not even a "what can I get for you?" My wife had to ask her if she was OK...still no response. It's unfortunate she is burdened with a job!"

"The atmosphere is good and there are a few tables outside. That's nice. But the coffee is bad. The grains are overburdened. I was expecting much more for a place whose names starts with Brew. If you like coffee, avoid this place. That's pretentious and not up to the standards. Besides, the bins were full, there was rubbish on the floor... These small details should be addressed when you pay $4 for a cup of coffee."
