"Head Start Therapy Center. I would recommend this facility to anyone looking for services for their child. They have a program individual and in group social skills: it includes OT, ST.... Staf are professional and knowledgeable. The Owner Deborah is professional gentle, helpful and good listener. She would support any parent with resources: getting communication devices, IEP meeting, directions what you could work at home and community with your child through out the day to progress thier speech and social skills. We are great-full to Head start for their contnues support."
"We were referred to Early Start Therapy by Kaiser for speech therapy. They evaluated our child and told us they had the perfect class. It was not perfect. It wasn't even speech therapy. It was some kind of behavioral therapy. It was not helpful. Additionally, when we requested that they provide our child's "Speech, Sound, and Language Evaluation," so we could take that to another therapist, they were unable to provide this despite having charged Kaiser hundreds of dollars for it."
"Very kind and thoughtful therapists, helped my son a lot. Thank you!"
"I would not recommend Early Start Therapy. I have 2 autistic kids who went there for around 6 months. The initial evaluations seemed great but after that not so much. What was never explained was that most of the therapists are students or newly graduated. 1. There never seemed to be much of a plan for the day for the kids. I felt like they were always winging it. The only reason we continued there was because we couldn't get our kids into ANYWHERE else in all of the DMV. And we felt some therapy was likely better than nothing. 2. The first OT therapist after multiple discussions kept insisting on focusing on things that we were not worried about and did not think was appropriate for a then 2 year old. We were about to ask to switch therapists when she told us that she was leaving. 3. Their covid protocols were AWFUL. They claimed they were taking temperatures when you got there but after a couple weeks I finally asked. The person at the front desk was not doing it. They said they would do better but only did it once that I saw and then never again. I never saw anyone wash their hands and infrequently used hand santizer. Luckily masks were used. I never saw them cleaning and wiping down surfaces. They have a big room with lots of toys but never saw them once getting cleaned. Even if they did it at the end of the day, with covid that was not enough. 4. The therapists looked overworked and somehow undermanaged. I just always go the impression that they weren't quite sure what they were doing but were trying their best. Again, I just felt like they were winging a lot of the therapies and weren't quite clear on the plan. 5. Billing issues. The bills NEVER matched our EOB and was a constant struggle to get it corrected. Months after we left the practice we practically had to beg for our bills to be corrected to pay. 6. It was a revolving door, clearly the practice wasn't run well. There was a lot of coming and going of employees. I've actually never wrote a google review before but because we had such a bad experience with a pediatric therapy office (not just a restaurant) I felt it was important to share our experience. Our family did bring up multiple concerns throughout our time there, it seemed to be taken seriously at first, and then would go back to their normal."
"I had some Issues with one of their Therapist in April who is no longer working for their practice. My mistake was dealing directly with that person instead of communicating with the office manager. It would of saved me tons of headaches if I would of just dealt with Deborah (the office manager) instead. She has been wonderful, kind and very helpful in getting my issues solved. She was quick to respond and gave me a few resources as well."
