Therapy Café

"If there was anyway I could give 'No' stars, I would. Made appointment for telehealth, only type they have to offer. Never received a link, email, text, or phone call to start the appointment. Called and left 2 messages, 20 minutes before and 1/2 hour after schedule time. Was contacted next day with 'NO Apology' or anything. Told them this was not acceptable nor professional and would be writing this experience in a review, since this world works on review - beware of who you are dealing with."

"I would never use this service again. I found them through my insurance and from day one something was strange. The therapist session was 30 minutes long although they were billing for hour-long sessions. They billed the sessions incorrectly (in-office sessions instead of virtual, which were free during the beginning of COVID 19). I called with them to correct the billing issue with a representative from my insurance company on the phone. The billing person for this company was rude and unprofessional to the insurance representative and me. The insurance representative stated they had incorrectly billed sessions and the Therapy Cafe billing rep. promised to correct that. A month later I followed up and was told this could not be done. Just my opinion, I would look elsewhere because it is just not worth the headache."

"I am super upset and angry. I called this place because it was the only place that took my insurance for miles. For months I never heard back. After several calls, I finally got an appointment. I drove 45 minutes to appointment only to find that it was not in person, but online. I was super upset. I was not sure if I should pursue therapy at this place, but I decided to forget everything and see a therapist online with them. I loved her and we could talk about anything. She had a nice friendly approach. Recently, my appointment with her was canceled for some reason and then the office calls saying she no longer works at Therapy Cafe and that I will be assigned a new therapist. I googled her and found a phone number. I called her and left a message hoping it was her. It was her and she called me back. She said she was fired out of the blue and that they criticized her therapy skills, which I thought was odd because I think her skills were wonderful. They even questioned her background and education, but were able to verify she really went to college and got her residency hours. I am just hurt that I lost a great therapist and that the therapist was fired out of the blue in such an insulting fashion; she probably will not be able to get unemployment because people do not get unemployment since the side of the businesses are taken always. That is why the rich get richer and the poor get poorer. Its clear that Therapy Cafe does not treat its staff and clients properly. Therapy Cafe is very disorganized and unprofessional."

"I spoke with the owner(?) Kathleen after finding them on a website and she recommended and I was recommended to one of the other therapist. I was told they accept my insurance and to try and book an appointment. I tried to make an appointment on June 11th and as per their notice I was expecting a reply within 3 days. Well I waited weeks and got no reply- I even called and got no answer. Fast forward June 28th I try to make an appointment AGAIN and this time I make a note saying if there's any reason you cannot accept me to, at the very least, let me know. It's currently July 5th and I still have no reply to either attempt. I've been suffering from pretty severe issues and I was optimistic about moving forward, but this has been really disheartening. I don't really know what else to say. Please avoid them."

"Found this center online while looking for a place that had availability not too far from where I reside. Sent in my information and missed their call to finally set up an appointment. I’ve been calling for the past 5 days to get a hold of someone. Mailbox is full. Today was the last straw when someone answered and hung up on me. If you’re unable to keep up with clientele, then you shouldn’t be in business in the first place."
