"Absolutely insane billing practices: In March 2023, I had a consultation with Cassie Joslin, who was great. She told me that she didn’t specialize in the area of treatment I was looking for, so she so kindly told me she didn’t want to bill me for the appointment and offered to refer me to other Thriveworks providers instead. I didn’t see any other providers so that was the only Thriveworks appointment I’ve had. Cassie relayed to Thriveworks that she didn’t want to bill me for the consultation, and they billed me anyways and told me they were billing me because that wasn’t in writing. I went back to Cassie and told them they needed that in writing, so she sent that to them in writing and that as far as I know, it was sorted out. Until it wasn’t - Thriveworks continued billing me for the session. I connected with Cassie again, who got a confirmation in writing from billing that my balance would be cancelled… and yet Thriveworks AGAIN kept billing me. Almost a YEAR after my consultation, after Cassie went back and forth with billing several times to get this resolved (and billing literally confirming I’d stop being billed), this company continued to bill me. I decided to just pay the balance so they would stop billing me. I’m sure this practice is great and Cassie definitely was, but I’d avoid from billing practices alone."
"They take your money without your consent and do not notify you thoroughly about bills. You have to jump through hoops to get a straight forward answer as to how much things will cost. I never got an answer until I found out I was charged even though I was told my card information would not be saved. They put up a good front that it’s a great company but they have done more damage to my mental health and bank account than good. And it’s such a shame because the individual who I see is just absolutely wonderful. She’s the only good thing about this place."
"Session was great. I was very nervous but found Robby easy to work with. He listened and then thoroughly explained meditation choices with an action plan."
"I was a little skeptical at first as I got the feeling it was a fly-by-night operation when I made my appointment. Wrong! My therapist dug deep, was thoughtful, professional and really examined my concerns. I couldn't have asked for a better evaluation. I will totally be using my therapist again!"
"In response to first appointment 17 Oct 2023: My consultation was with Mrs. Cassie Joslin PMHNP for both counseling and medication. Intake, screening, and appointment scheduling was all done through the Thriveworks process online and I was able to schedule a telehealth appointment for the week following my initial inquiry (most psychiatrists I've looked at locally have a 6-12 month waiting period at the time of this review). My copay using BCBS Anthem was only $30 for a one hour session. Mrs. Joslin has a gift for disarming candor, creating insightful connections, and has one of the broadest and most open minds I've ever encountered. Her immediate knowledge of medication contraindications and adverse interactions put me completely at ease. Her demeanor, tone, and genuine enthusiasm for helping her clients grow and heal illustrated clearly that she considers her role to be one of advising partner and not dictatorial authority. I have (apparently) suffered from major depression for the majority of my life and in one afternoon Cassie changed everything about how I live and how I'm able to perceive and interact with the world. She never pushed medication or an agenda and throughout our session she was engaging, honest, and encouraging. In fact, our session nearly ran over and we hadn't come to a real conclusion about the course of action to take moving forward by the end through no fault of her own. She reached out after our appointment to check in and maintains a reassuring and consistent level of communication after and between sessions. We were able to come to a decision together after my session and I've since started on the course of medication she has recommended. Having Mrs. Joslin as a part of my care team has given me a new lease on life and I will be forever thankful for that."
