"Long post but worth the read- DO NOT GO HERE THEY WILL TAKE YOUR MONEY. If i could do less than one i would solely based upon my experience with this billing department. No ill intention to my therapist she was amazing and helped me thoroughly. However, i am now scarred to even attempt to go somewhere else based on this nightmare of a billing issue. It started out midway through my services i had at the time put my childhood insurance i was still on at the time (under 26) as primary and my work insurance as secondary. Due to this claims were rejected and needed to be redone. At the time they could only be backdated to a certain date and i was told i had to pay out of pocket but would be reimbursed by my insurances since mind you i was fully covered…the original amount quoted to me was approx $1800. So i got on a payment plan since i didn’t have that upfront. There will multiple issues through out my PP due to changing employees, updating card info etc. Fast forward over a year after i ended services i was still paying via my payment plan so I called to get this sorted assuming i would be having my last payment(s) based on the timeline that was shared with me before. To my surprise i somehow owed $500 more still and at the time i had paid about $1600 at the time making this total around 2k. I called my insurance about the refund and now extra charges to which they were perplexed by the situation as well since i was clearly covered why would i need to pay out of pocket and they could have resubmitted claims out of the back date before now. Since time had passed it would now include more obstacles. I then went on to continue to be charged against my wishes and then my insurance representative and myself could not get a hold of anyone with billing for months. After constant back and forth and chasing (and tremendous stress) i was refunded $1400 but this did not include additional charged i got outside of my payment plan (against my wishes again) for an additional $250. When i emailed to question this as it was not reflected on the confusing billing statement they sent me, I was met with once again i needed to talk to my insurance not them. When clearly this is a THEM issue. I’m also confused as to why someone like myself with no insurance or billing experience was just expected to figure this all out or understand these processes. I have no idea how it works yet had to be the one to advocate for myself and chase things down on both sides. 2k is a lot of money in this economy currently. Had i not followed up and stayed persistent I’m sure i wouldn’t have anything back at this moment. Overcharging and scamming people out of money when they’re trying to better themselves is not what i consider to be a good business practice. If you can go to any other counseling/therapist then here do so. Save yourself the extra therapy you’d need just to deal with this. I’d rather lose out on the $250 i was additionally charged than deal with this another day."
