"I had a phone consult and an intake here. The therapist was the same for both. She hinted that she might refer elsewhere, but made it seem like it was not due to one of the main things I was seeking therapy for. Turns out it was absolutely one of the two main things a therapist has to be able to work with for them to work with me. Her and I both agreed that in-person would be best, but then the suggestion she gave was telehealth only. The other two were not accepting new clients (which she knew). I was willing to pay out of pocket for therapy, but I never would have paid for an intake if she had been more open that she didn't actually feel comfortable working with that issue and would make a recommendation of going elsewhere"
