"Best Physical Therapy service in Sterling/Ashburn area !! After my right shoulder AC Joint surgery, I went to Allied Health for post-op rehabilitation. As expected after any surgery, muscles around the surgery area were very tight and I was only able to move my right hand by just few inches. "I had a CMC joint arthroplasty (a surgery where the trapezium bone of the thumb joint is removed and replaced with a tendon) which led me to have a cast for six weeks. I found Allied Health Solutions in Sterling, VA and was able to start occupational hand therapy with Shay who helped me for a period of over two months to recover the mobility of my hand to include my fingers. She created a plan that included heat, massage, ultrasound therapy and exercises. After the surgery I was told that it would take a year to recover the use of my hand and would be in pain for that long. It got a little bit challenging in the beginning of the therapy sessions but I have to say that I am pain free and am able to use my hand. I still have to continue with exercises for strength because insurance puts a limit on the number of sessions but I am following Shay's plan and continue with my exercises at home.
