About the Center for Nature Informed Therapy
The Center for Nature Informed Therapy, located at 1010 Dulaney Valley Road in Towson, Maryland, offers a unique approach to healing by integrating the restorative power of nature with established therapeutic practices. Our evidence-based Nature Informed Therapy (NIT) programs aim to heal mental health issues by reconnecting individuals with nature through methods such as 'walk and talk' therapy, nature-based mindfulness, and horticultural activities. By blending the healing properties of the natural world with modalities like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), we address a wide range of mental health concerns to promote overall well-being and a harmonious relationship with the environment.
Join us for transformative experiences such as our "Capturing Serenity" retreat, combining nature photography, mindfulness, and well-being activities in the beautiful Loch Raven Reservoir Watershed. We also offer hiking retreats in the German/Austrian Alps, backpacking trips for mental health and well-being, and specialized programs for adults impacted by traumatic injury.
Our programs are designed to combat stress, anxiety, and isolation while fostering a deep connection with nature. While our services are not covered by insurance, we offer a Nature Scholarship Fund to provide access to our community. We are committed to honoring the rich history and diverse heritage of the land we are situated on, which has served as a communal space for Indigenous Peoples for generations. Join us on a journey of healing and reconnection with the natural world at the Center for Nature Informed Therapy.

Reviews of Center for Nature Informed Therapy
"I looked forward to this training for weeks and it exceeded my expectations! It was well run and the information we learned was extremely beneficial. I changed the way my office appears to incorporate nature. I am able to implement what I learned into group and individual work. The staff were all super! I felt a lot of support and guidance throughout my time there. If anyone is on the fence about taking the training, I would HIGHLY recommend it! It has changed the way I structure my sessions and has left me with very positive feelings."
"This 3 day training was one of the best I have attended. The days were well planned, with a good tempo and a variety of activities and break out groups. The presenting professionals were confident and clear and worked together seamlessly. Becoming a NIT Certified Therapist will add significantly to the richness of my private practice."
"This training was well executed, grounded in the research and organized. It is a wonderful opportunity to be part of a growing methodology and approach to interventions in the field of mental health. As a Psyd(Clinical Psychologist) what I most appreciate is that the training is not presented as a stand alone tool but rather a framework of thinking that can be applied to current theoretical orientation or approach."
"The Center for Nature Informed Therapy curated a thoughtful and enlightening trip through the Austrian Alps. I would highly recommend this trip to anyone who enjoys the outdoors and is looking for an opportunity for self-reflection."
"Dr. Heidi Schreibeer-Pan is full of wisdom. Her one-day workshop at the 8th World Congress of Positive Psychology was a perfect blend of academic information and experiential exercises. Many people remarked on the experience throughout the rest of the conference. It is a privilege to know her. I highly recommend connecting with Heidi if you are a practitioner and want to learn how to incorporate nature as a co-therapist into your practice, or to arrange for her to lead a workshop to enhance well-being for a more general group of people."
