Reviews of Kathryn Marko, MD, FACOG, NCMP
"Dr Marko is an exceptional OB who has supported me from 6 months pregnant through 8 months postpartum. I have worked with the best providers in the east coast over the years and Dr Marko is at the top. She has been supportive, understanding, knowledgeable and genuine. From having an injury while pregnant and guiding me up to delivery, to checking on me at the start of her on-call after delivery, and providing me with support postpartum, I am forever grateful. I know under Dr Marko’s care she always used the most up-to-date knowledge and research to make informed decisions and truly provided the best support possible."
"Absolutely love Dr. Marko. She is thorough, patient, and kind. She answers all of my questions and has a gentle and un-rushed approach. I only wish it was easier to get in to see her. She is often booked up for months."
"First let me start off by saying the front office is wonderful. So wonderful that it is a shame they aren't the ones following up for their patients. I have been shuffled around since last year due to doctor's leaving and new ones being appointed. I had the misfortune of getting Dr. Marketo. She has no idea what she is doing and really doesn't seem to care either. I went to her for help getting my Rx approved that I had been on for 1.5 years. Instead of fighting for me, she recommended I try the alternatives, which I did. I went back to her to let her know they weren't working and she did a pre-auth for me to get the other Rx back. It was denied sighting that I needed to try one of the alternatives, which I did, but she hadn't notified them. This all could have been avoided though, because when my Rx was first denied, the insurance company gave me a backdoor number for my doctor to call and speak directly with their physician who makes these decisions. They told me if she explained the situation to him, they'd probably approve it right then and there. This never happened though, because Dr. Marko never called or followed up at that time. Fast forward to me coming in and getting the pre-auth and denial. The doctors office called me to say that they would file an appeal. This was at the beginning of January. I followed up weekly only to be told at the end of the month that they had dropped the ball and were filing it right away. I called bi-weekly for the next 2 months. Nothing, they said they filed it and had zero suggestions from there. Oh, they did say they would follow up and get back to me via phone or the portal. Zero communication. This week I decided to call my insurance since they were the ones who the appeal was sitting with. I found out that there was never an appeal filed. I've been dealing with this for 3 months, no calls from the doctor or her admin, zero support. This is really horrible and if you are in need of a caring responsive doctor, run, she is not it."
"Dr. Marko was not impressive when I met her. She put me back on birth control to manage perimenopause, didn't seem interested in exploring any other option but getting me back on the pill. After a year she stopped refilling my prescription after multiple request for refill because I had not scheduled an annual check up. I do not appreciate her holding my birth control and reproductive health hostage over me not making an appointment. I can't imagine that this is the best approach. I would not recommend this practice at all."
"Dr. Marko should not be practicing medicine, in my opinion. While she may have a nice manner, she failed to take seriously my symptoms of breast cancer, resulting in a delay in my diagnosis of a month. Believe me, when you have this kind of diagnosis, any needless delay will drive you out of your mind with worry. When Dr. Marko found out about my cancer diagnosis, her reaction was literally a single word, “wow.” That’s not exactly helpful, coming from a doctor. Glad I have found some competent doctors in my treatment, but I would not wish the shockingly poor treatment I received from Dr. Marko on my worst enemy."
