Reviews of Capital Women's Care
"Staff was wonderful and Dr. Band is the best! Quality service, professional, and very down to earth! My daughter and I went here and received excellent care. I highly recommend. Thank you, Dr Band and your awesome staff. Keep up the great work!"
"Dear Capital Women’s Care, I want to say thank you for the attentive and thorough care that I am receiving at your practice. I really appreciated the kind call from Angela, your office manager today to offer an additional appointment. I also appreciated the time Dr. Footer and Dr. Wagar were able to take in our recent appointments to discuss many important topics with me. I know that I’m an unusual case with unique preferences and the respect, compassion and communication in these appointments to discuss options, risks and benefits has been helpful. I’m relieved to find in my most recent appointment that your practice follows ACOG guidelines as I’ve read the Committee on Ethics Opinion Document #664, which was written in 2016, and then reaffirmed in 2019. It states, “The most suitable ethical approach for medical decision making in obstetrics is one that recognizes the pregnant woman’s freedom to make decisions within caring relationships, incorporates a commitment to informed consent and refusal within a commitment to provide medical benefit to patients, and respects patients as whole and embodied individuals. This ethical approach recognizes that the obstetrician–gynecologist’s primary duty is to the pregnant woman…” and “It also is important to inform the patient that other aspects of her care are not conditioned on making a choice that her obstetrician–gynecologist might prefer…after the patient and the physician have discussed the clinical situation and the benefits and risks of the recommended treatment or intervention, the patient should decide whether or not to proceed with the recommended treatment (informed consent) or to forgo the recommended treatment (informed refusal)...” This is true to the experience I have had at your office and I have felt respected as an individual. I have felt that my concerns and opinions have been valued even when divergent from the typical model of care. I am also grateful to have my blood pressure and vitals monitored at each visit, knowing that I can reach out if something happens. It is such a relief to have a great team of knowledgeable and compassionate doctors and nurses who we can rely on as we experience this pregnancy journey. I am looking forward to my next appointment and thank you again from my heart for being there for our family in the best way possible. Katherine Chava Allgood"
"I recently had a LEEP procedure in the Rockville office performed by Dr. Band. I felt a tiny little pinch when he numbed the area but then no pain afterwards. The procedure was quick and I had no issues during the procedure or with recovery. Dr. Band was amazing. He kept me informed of what he was going to do which helped me feel more comfortable during the procedure. This was much better and faster than having to go to a surgical center."
"After coming in for my 2 week check up at 3 weeks due to scheduling issues on Capital Woman’s Care’s behalf, I was told “congratulations” even though my baby was stillborn. When trying to schedule my appointment I was hung up on multiple times and have had multiple patient portal messages go unanswered. I talked to an office administrator but they were no help on why my calls were hung up (the office answered immediately when I called from my husband’s phone) and messages not answered. This unfortunately isn’t my first grievance with this office. Half the doctor’s won’t take your concerns serious."
"Dr. Band and his staff are great professionals to entrust my health with and I he has been my doctor for years. He delivered my daughter twenty-six years ago and I have a lot of respect for him and his professional knowledge of the medical industry."
