"Have had some of the most worst encounters with medicine ...ever... with this practice. Within a few short weeks ( a total of 3-4 visits), I've come to regret ever stepping foot inside of this office. I wished that I had stopped to read a review. To at the very least, confer with other medical physicians first. If you're like me, you will be given perimenopausal birth control pills, even though you are not at an age where they should be given. You will experience extreme side effects. You will be subjected to tests that you were not made aware of. I have a huge bill where half of the tests run on my samples weren't ever cleared by me. Not even mentioned to me. They were not even related to the bladder issues I was experiencing. It was one of the most humiliating experiences I've ever had, and it took me weeks to respond to it once I was made aware that I had been tested for every STD they could think of. Everything I said about my bladder issues (nothing else) was tossed aside. My PCP solved this through doing an assessment and actually listening to me. This office is not patient friendly. Not consumer friendly. Not transparent in any of their practices. On the day of my surgery, I still had no bill to look over with my husband. Neither Dr. Barrett's office nor Reston Hospital had the bill for the surgery beforehand, though I made a fervent attempt to see this. The only thing we had was a broad estimate of our deductible. Beth, from the front desk, didn't have the bill, but made sure to mention that insurance would cover everything once we paid $3500 out of pocket. We later found out that this simple outpatient procedure I had would cost our insurance nothing less than $24,000. Also, there was no patient assessment. So, the day of my surgery (removal of a uterine polyp), there is a male in the surgery room. Something I hadn't even saw coming. There are other things. Questions about whether this surgery was necessary in the first place (my PCP brought this up). They avoided referring me to someone who could work with my schedule (my surgery would have been cheaper if I didn't have to wait on Dr. Barrett to pencil me in). I honestly believe that the doctor performs unnecessary surgeries for financial gain. The best I can do now is tell others. Encounters like this create the events we see with medicine and women. I would not recommend this place to anyone. Something I've learned: You are within your right to lab requests BEFORE they are sent off. Don't just trust someone because they have a lab coat on. If something doesn't feel right, trust your instincts."

"Dr. Barrett is a good doctor. I would recommend her. But her staff and customer service is another. Wait time on the phone to reschedule an appointment or to make one is outrageous. I was on hold over 20 minutes the first time I called to reschedule my appointment another 15 because I decided to hangup and call back. Called a third time with the line going to voicemail. At the end I never completed my appointment reschedule."
