"They don’t treat there employees right they never pay them on time and plus it’s rat infested and they don’t care about nothing but money"
"This place is very filthy, they are rat infested a child had mouse dropping in her mouth and they are about the money and not for the kids"
"I've had enough distance to now write a review of this CDC. We had our child here from the time he was 6 months old to the time he was 3. We lived very close and brought him here because it was in walking distance. Let me get the cons out of the way. There are more pros. Cons: - Poor organization. We've now been through 2 other childcare centers and comparatively, HAFH is disorganized. Sometimes you were not made aware of changes or that months' calendar until a day or so. That was frustrating. -Communications/Entry- There had been more than one occasion where the front door was locked and I had to call the office to get someone to let me in. And there have been occasions when I needed to talk to someone and no one answered the phone or all I got was a busy signal. - Staff turnover. There was a fair amount in the 2-3 years we were there. - Candy & videos. They provided him with lots of candy and screentime. We're currently at a place that does the same, so this is not a con specific to HAFH. Pros: -Less Paperwork. Compared to another place I shall not name, the amount of paperwork per year we had to submit was fair. -Flexible. Related to the paperwork, if something was a 'little' late there were no scary threatening threats to kid our kid out the next day. -Free food- I don't know if this is still the case, but we did not have to supply our own formula or lunches. This saved us $$$! Diapers, you have to supply those. -Cheap. Childcare is expensive. Compared to other, more corporate places, I was paying at least $100 less a month than another nearby CDC. We were also grandfathered into a cheaper rate by staying so long. -Outings. When my child was old enough, they took him and his classmates to something on ice and other field trips. -Caring staff. The staff cared about my child and express sadness when we left. -Free PreK. I saved the best for last. DC has universal pre-k but the school we are in boundary for and 'won' the lottery for, because of the pandemic was only doing virtual. Virtual is worthless. HAFH had IN-PERSON education. And because of some reason, it was also FREE for DC residents. Lastly, something I will mention, the majority of clients are voucher holders. We weren't. Some people have a problem with that, we didn't."
"They wouldn’t do me the courtesy of even returning an email inquiry of their center"
