"On 1/25/2022 we had our taxes done hoping we would get an early refund. On 2/25/2022 we received a letter from the IRS stating there was no documentation sent that would substantiate our refund of $6649. The letter requested we forward the necessary paperwork for them to proceed with handling our refund request. Upon receipt of the requested paperwork, we should get our refund in 8-10 weeks. I contacted LNC and told Nadine about the letter from the IRS and about our paperwork that was not sent electronically with our 1040 tax return. Nadine requested I forward the letter to LNC. I declined and said I would take care of it myself. The IRS said I could send the paperwork to their Austin, TX office or fax the paperwork. They said they could not confirm receipt of the paperwork if I faxed it. I decided to send it priority mail($26) and requested confirmation that they received it. They received it on 2/28/2022. So much for getting an early refund! We'll be lucky if we receive it in 6 months."
