"There are no words to describe how I feel about Danceworks. Just 3 days before her very first recital that she worked so hard toward, my young daughter tested positive for Covid. We were heartbroken because we knew that meant she would not be able to perform in her recital as planned. I emailed Christine, the owner and I was blown away by her fast response. Not only was I immediately reimbursed for the tickets I had previously purchased, I was given multiple options for my daughter to still be given some sort of recital opportunity. Well, today was nothing short of magical. Following the dress rehearsal for the rest of the performers, my daughter was able to go on stage under all the lights, in front of the beautiful backdrop. With the help of her amazing teacher, Ms. Luke, she performed her dance pieces that she worked so hard on for several months. Ms. Luke presented my daughter with a medal and she was applauded by some very kind fellow performers and Danceworks staff who stuck around for a while after the rehearsal. It was a very emotional and beautiful day. Everyone involved is so busy preparing for the recital tomorrow and we are so grateful how much care, thought and action went into helping one child feel included and special. "I could not recommend this studio more! My 4 year old loves her ballet class. As a first-timer to dance school, she is happy and engaged throughout every single class. The studio is welcoming and very responsive to any questions I have as a parent. It is clear that Danceworks is a business that loves and respects both the dancer and the practice of dance. "My family loves Danceworks!!! I am a lifelong dancer, starting at the age of 5 through college, and teaching dance now for over 20 years. I cannot think of another place I’d rather take my three children to for their dance education. The staff is kind and loving with each and every student. The studio feels like a second home. I have two boys who took ballet and tap classes through 5th grade and it was an amazing experience for them. Now my daughter is beginning her 5th year and is so excited to get back in the studio. Danceworks teaches dance like the art form it is, not a competition, which in today’s world is so refreshing. As for the recital, it is so professional and efficient. My parents are still coming to see my recitals, and now watch their grandchildren perform - that’s about 40 years of dance performances! From the very first one they saw at Danceworks they were amazed at how good it was, from the costumes, to the lighting, to the quick transitions between numbers, to the creative and varied choreography – they loved it all.
