"I was at Best Buy today (9/9/23) for my laptop repair and I must say that the Geek Squad Agent was amazing!! My customer service experience was 5 golden stars!! The agent was very knowlegable, respectful and he did a wonderful job fixing my laptop. The entire experience was absolutely great at Geek Squad..........BUT.....................................something happened that upset me. To recap a bit, the agent was handing me back my laptop and all of the sudden a customer in the front started yelling and stating that the customer service was really bad because the the agent did not tell her that he will be right back. So, when I heard that I was surprised because the agent was with me for a minute answering my question and giving me back my laptop. The agent was juggling customers as he did not have help in the front. The agent had no intention of ignoring the customer. From what I observed the agent was so busy that he just merely forgot to say "I will be right there." The point that I want to make is that all of the agents at GeeK Squad -Best Buy are HUMAN BEINGS and NOT ROBOTS. They have feeling too!! If I was that angry customer I would have politely asked the agent why did he not say that he will be right back Or I would talk to the manager politely about the situation. That's just how I feel. Yelling out loud is very unprofessional. Be nice and talk it out nicely in a professional manner -Peace :)"
"I brought a computer in and it needed a new screen. They had to send it out, but they kept me informed. Iy now performs like a new computer."
"I've never experienced a company with service this poor. After 6 phone calls and 5 hours of frustration, I have discovered that the IPhone I purchased today is FRAUDULENT and NOT CERTIFIED. I wasted my entire day going from one store to another to buy this phone only to find out after I transferred all my data... that isn't properly certified. The 800# is useless. The local store phone number takes you to a foreign answering service. Every time I called they transferred me to.... nowhere! This is my last purchase from Best Buy. Don't waste your time!"
"DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE!!!! Through a few difficult and frustrating experiences, they will: - Charge you exorbitant amounts of money to do the most minimal amount of work that they possibly can - Literally do as little as they possibly can. We brought in my wife's laptop PC. They spent a short time on it and then told us that they could only wipe the entire drive. I gave it to a friend who spent about 2 hours on it and saved everything for her. - We brought in an external hard drive that had stopped working. Lots of my wife's history stored on it. They charged us $75 to send it to their facility ... somewhere out west far far away ..., told us they'd have an answer in a week or so (but no work to be done for that $75 --- that was just to take a look) and then forgot about us. A dozen or so calls by my wife over the next month finally got her drive back to the Columbia location, not working, and they then charged us another $75 just to give it back to us, no work done. Same friend grabbed it, took another few hours, and saved everything. - Similar things 1-2 more times. Are you sensing a pattern here? DO NOT USE THESE FREAKS OF NATURE!!!"
"I've always had good luck going to the Geek Squad in this store, although the online help is worthless. Today I had a completely different experience. I went in with unwanted pop-ups, something they've dealt with during an appointment in the past...quick fixes. Today the young woman actually did nothing herself but went into the back and said they had run a scan that showed nothing. I would have to leave my computer 2-3 days. When I asked to speak with her boss, he said the same thing, adding that the "fixes" in the past were obviously inadequate. I left. I called the tech assistance at my university and literally over the phone with a few clicks they had located and fixed the problem. Wish I knew the agents' names I dealt with there so I could warn you to avoid going in when they're on duty."
