South Gate Appliance Repair

"I called on Monday, April 12th, 2021 and they stated someone could come out on Tuesday, April 13th, 2021. They called back and said the one person who services this area would not be in the area on April 13th so I agreed to change the date to Thursday, April 15th from 11am-1pm. At 1pm on Thursday, April 15th I received a call stating the technician’s truck broke down and he couldn’t come. At this point, I was upset so I asked if they had any time on Saturday, April 17th but I wanted a specific time this go around not a window of time. I was put on hold, they called the technician who stated he could come out on Saturday, April 17th at 8am which I agreed to. On Saturday, April 17th at 8am, the technician never showed up so at 9am I called the company and after being put on hold for 8 minutes, I was told the technician could get here at 10am. I asked the dispatcher why no one called me to even let me know the technician was running late which he couldn’t answer. Apparently, this business deals with contractors who aren’t professional and don’t respect other people’s time. This was the WORST experience ever!! Oh and by the way, they ask for your credit card information when you schedule the appointment. This has been the most ridiculous experience and my freezer still isn’t fixed which is all I’ve been trying to accomplish for almost a week☹️"

"I'm not sure what "South Gate Appliance Repair" really is. The website seems to be random pictures of Annapolis as a front for a no-name appliance repair company. I explained to our technician what the problem was and where the intermittent leak was coming from on our dishwasher. He proceeded to lecture me about cleaning the drain and the door seal and not using too much soap, despite the fact that none of these issues were the cause. When I insisted that he deal with the problem (insulation interfering with the overflow-protection mechanism), his solution was to cut the insulation with a pair of scissors that he had to borrow from me. He then couldn't figure out how to reassemble the cover, and wouldn't believe me when I told him how to do it. He asked, "Can't you remember how it went together?" I told him I remembered it going together just as I had explained it. He told me he "didn't like to work on people's appliances after they've taken them apart." Time will tell if he actually did anything useful, but he charged me $154 (including the $85 diagnostic fee) to cut the insulation. I could have done that for free."

"Unfortunately, we had a less than positive experience with the repair to a leaking water line on our LG refrigerator. The repair person (whose name my husband did not catch and is not on the paperwork/receipt) did fix the leak, but the ice maker stopped working immediately after the repair. We were not aware of this until later that night. The repair person was not from South Gate Appliance Repair, but from some subcontractor I guess. He dented our refrigerator door by banging the fridge up against a counter top corner when moving it. He also asked my husband for a can (as in a canned good) to prop up the refrigerator. I find it strange that an appliance repair person has nothing in their truck to use for such a purpose. The can was obviously round and he had a difficult time keeping it under the refrigerator. Plus, the can was of course totally crushed. Finally, he kept insisting that my husband pay by check. We were never told we had to pay by check prior to the repair appointment and we had no checks My husband finally was able to make him understand (the repair person's English was not very good) that he was going to have to take a credit card for payment. So, despite the leak being fixed, not so happy with the service. I guess this was just our experience since others seem to be pretty satisfied."

"Please don't contact this people they are very Rude. They are saying owner don't take a phone call. They are going to loose their business. I had make appointment. Technician came and see the problem for my electrical dryer. I told him to tell me the charge before he fixed. He did not tell me anything and fix the problem. After that he said the charge is $300. This people already charge me 59.99 service fee. The problem for the electrical dryer was only fuse. When I called this people to let them know the issue. This person on phone said alright then do not call us next time. RIDICULOUS SERVICE. Let my friends and family know not to call and use their service."

"Do not use this company or service! They are a complete joke! They were hours late and send two guys and a regular car on marked to do the job. They said it was a $75 service fee which could be paid at the time of arrival. My situation is a landlord tenant situation so I didn’t want to use my credit card. They ran the card anyway. The technician did nothing but unplug my refrigerator and plug it back in and it worked. At that point he told me I owed him now $250. So now I paid $325 for nothing. I spoke with management today and they told me that they would do nothing about it. Do not use this service!"
