"Strevig no longer owns this business. I found this out in court when the current owner sued me. I used Strevigs for 20 years, then had 3 big jobs in a row. Well pump replaced, then a year later pipe to well broke and pump burned up so replaced pipe and new well pump again. Right after that they serviced furnace and condemed my oil tank and installed a new one. First 2 jobs I paid in full when completed. Last job, I paid $800 down then $100 per month for 3 months. Then he sued me. I went in and made a payment and asked for a payment plan. He took paymwnt but refused to set a plan. In court, he lied and said I had never tried to make arrangements to pay him. Beware this company, I would NOT recommend them."
"Our well pump went out on Thanksgiving day. I got in contact with George Srevig on Friday morning and they were at my home within an hour. They are courteous and efficient. I would recommend them to anyone who needs plumbing assistance."
"I will not employ George W Strivig and son for service nor recommend them. Had two separate systems put in my two story home. My wife is paralyzed and in a wheelchair,. My wife and I live on the first floor because of her paralysis. When we use the air conditioning the bedroom is 65 degrees the living room 73, bathroom 60 and kitchen 78. Had to pay for a gas leak in the line they put in. The heat bedroom 80 the livingroom 72 the kitchen 68. 1050 sq feet."
"My husband and I heard George W. Strevig & Sons, Inc. were highly recommended in the community; therefore, we decided we'd call them the next time we needed a plumber. Over the winter, a critter decided to make its way through our home's foundation drain pipe. The furry animal used a lot of dirty soil and rocks to create a dwelling inside our sump pump... Needless to say, we should of paid attention to our dogs who seemed to be sniffing about the top of the sump pump...Anyway, that was the messy problem. Dave, a highly skilled and friendly man, came to our rescue. He repaired the sump pump and sealed the pipe. Dave also repaired a leaking sink faucet in our kitchen. He did professional work and we are very pleased. The work was reasonably priced too. We will call Strevig & Sons again and again!"
"I was having an issue with me heat staying on so i had fixed it temporally. The following weekend it went out again at night. I had gave it the temporary fix and decided to call Strevigs. I had to go to work and leave this task with my wife (not mechanical) and they said to her that everything was fine and it looked like i fixed and told her that he would not charge a full hour of labor since nothing was wrong. We get the bill for $80 which equated to one full hour of labor to tell us that nothing was wrong. So in good faith we paid it, in the event that something like what i am about to get into would have happened. About a week later the heat goes out again on a Saturday ( a cold Saturday i.e.single digits) i called them and no one answered and i left a message, they called me back and said they would be right out. He goes down and looks at my furnace with me and says that i need to replace my heat sensor and gas valve. i asked him how much would the parts be. He then replies that the sensor would be about $10-15 and the valve would be $150 or much more. He calls and lets me know that the valve would run about $250, i said to him well lets just replace the sensor and deal with the valve later. He then said no problem and that he would call when the part was in and he did. We schedule a time for him to come to replace the sensor. He comes out and replaces the sensor and heat works fine. We then receive a bill in the mail and found out the part was not 10-15 dollars, in fact it was $50 and that we were charged for double time on that Saturday. i asked them to work with me on payment, they requested half i told hi i would send what i could so i sent $50 and was one day away from making my next payment and i get a certified letter from them in the mail taking me to court. Take this as you will, just proceed with caution and by the way my $250 valve that did not need to be replaced still works."
