ShopRite of Parkside 1575 North 52nd Street, Philadelphia, PA 19131

"This location had some wonderful cashiers and managers that were very pleasant, however they have one associate in the deli by the name of WANDA that has a very nasty attitude. After approaching the counter and respectfully asking if the department was open Wanda decided to respond very rudely and stated they were open and continued to sweep so that she could get on her broom and go home. I waited patiently as deli associate Maurice was attending to another order. As I am still patiently waiting another associate mentions I’m still waiting at the counter and she (Wanda) proceeds to say “and she can wait”. I was rushing anyone just waiting silently and patiently for my turn. As Wanda walks behind Maurice she looks me directly at me and rolls her eyes. I then say I don’t understand what the problem is and ask the associate Maurice again “hey I’m sorry did y’all say you were closed or open?” He responds by saying “no ma’am we are open”. Simultaneously Wanda is responding too with a nasty attitude. I turn around and find manager Craig and explain my encounter with Wanda. As I’m talking to him Wanda begins to yell across the counter to intervene in which I responded and told her exactly what she did. I then proceeded to communicate back with Craig while he tried to calm Wanda down and remover her from the situation. As a customer I don NOT appreciate Wanda’s behavior and or attitude as it was uncalled for. I would never venture back to the deli while Wanda is working."

"I shop at this ShopRite for there sweet potato pie and I don't mean the the store brand. I don't know who is making that pie but, I don't make my own sweet potato pie anymore. You can get the homemade sweet potato pies all year long."

"This is the best Shop Rite in the area, compared to Island Ave. Always clean, has security and products stay in the same spot! If they see it’s getting crowded, manager will open registers. I love their food and what they do for the community."

"Since moving to the area recently, this was my first time going inside this shoprite location to buy items. Overall the store is big and has so many items to choose from. There is security around ensuring shopping carts are taken back to their original location and there is no funny business going on. Things that could be improved on is that certain prices for items are higher than others and also customers should bring their own bags or reusable bags. Customers especially in today’s economy should not have to pay for bags. Their brown bags rip easily and they cost 60 cents per bag. Also, the placement of where items are located should be changed. Pantry items are more so at the front of the store and essential items are towards the back. For example, bread and milk are located in the same aisle, and it is located in the back of the store which doesn’t make sense to me. Other that, improvements need to be made but overall the store is good. I feel as though when shopping here, it is best to go to the back of the store to shop and work your way up."
