Reviews of Plato's Closet
"A waste of time and effort really. I brought in a huge bag of clothing and this is how it was returned to me. Why do I have to bring everything in nicely folded and they're allowed to just throw my name brand clothing back in the bag this way when they're finished??!! I'll definitely be going to clothes mentor instead, they have manners and they don't just throw your stuff around like this..."
"For what it is, a resale shop I find it fair. It's listed on their website what they are looking for and how much there expected payout is. Before you try selling to them, browse the store and do the math. Would you be interested in getting roughly $3 for a pair of jeans you haven't worn in 6 months? You can use the payout to shop the store. As a mom with teens, great way to clear out their closets and reinvest it into new cl0thes or shoes."
"Boy, oh boy. I would leave zero stars if I could. My partner and I stopped in here after dinner at 820 today. It was his first time thrift shopping, and we had planned to keep it limited to 30 minutes. The goal was to find his pants/shorts size and then choose a few items in his size. My partner dislikes browsing, so we wanted to make it a quick trip. Right from the start, I sensed an issue when the staff loudly announced that they would be closing in 35 minutes. It seemed oddly specific. Shortly after, we heard another employee ask the town crier to make another announcement, and he did so at 30 minutes, adding that the fitting rooms would close in 15. This was followed by repeated fitting room closure announcements at 10 minutes and 5 minutes. At this point, it was only 845. My partner felt rushed and pressured the entire time because he was the only one trying on clothes and the staff was hollering at him every 5 minutes. He hurriedly picked one pair of pants and headed to the checkout counter. The employee at the counter muttered something about the registers not working and said we'd have to wait for them to be fixed. So I started browsing the sunglasses right by the register. I think she had expected us to leave because she suddenly changed her attitude and asked me rudely if I intended to purchase the sunglasses or anything else. I bought the pair I had in my hands, along with my partner's totally mediocre pants, and then we left. As we were leaving, I noticed what I had thought was a smudge on my sunglasses turned out to be damage to the lens. We get it. The store closes at 9. That doesn't meant your customers deserve rude and pushy service during the entire preceding hour. Avoid this dumpster fire of entitlement. The staff has no idea what customer service is. #customerserviceisdead"
"The people doing the buying have absolutely no idea what they are talking about. Passed on a pair of Jordan’s worn once because they thought they were fake but we bought them from the Jordan’s website a year ago. They only buy things from friends and people they know and then make up reasons they can’t buy other peoples stuff"
"Took in a large basket of clothes, stuff less than a few months old. They didn’t even look through 1/4 of the basket. Told me “everything is over 12 months old”. They will buy shoes that are well over their life span but not clothes that have never been wore or that are extremely lightly used that are name brand? Cool. Definitely don’t recommend wasting your time selling things here."
