"A bit of Germany in West Chester! Back in summer 1979 when I lived in Germany, shoppers were already saving money by bringing their own "Tutte" or shopping bags. It took decades to catch on in the states. And now Germany's no frills shopping experience is here. Aldi is not a "supermarket" as in Giant, Acme or Wegmans. It's a food market. Food items (most often the Aldi brand) are often displayed in the boxes they came in. (No frills). And there doesn't seem to be the large selection or variety of fresh meat and seafood one finds in area supermarkets. The first time you go, give yourself time to discover the specialties and get to know the store. I'm spoiled, so I think I'll stay at the Giant for now - the German model takes some getting used to."
