"100% unethical company. If your items get lost or stolen like mine did during transit, prepare to go through hoops like a seal at an aquarium show only to find out that your claim will be denied."
"Don't use this company. Or, if you do, pay for a lawyer to go through the fine print. And be ready to sue when they offer you a fraction of what the damaged items were worth. I won't buy moving insurance again. It's a scam."
"This is an utterly irresponsible company. Do not use this company. They lost an entire truck load of my family's belongings and then they did not want to pay for what was lost. They cheat you out of your money. Take my advice and avoid them. Zero stars for sure."
"Do not use Unirisc. I recently moved internationally and paid for Unirisc insurance. Two boxes were lost and we had some damaged items. The total loss was over $900 (it was actually more but that was all the documentation I could find). I filed the claim. I didn't hear back until I wrote them again. They said they hadn't received the claim so I refiled (at the same email address) and asked for confirmation. They confirmed receipt and then didn't respond. I had to contact them again and almost immediately they came back saying it was under the deductible of $250. It was such a quick response it just seemed like a stock email that they send everyone. I questioned this 3 times with no response. It was basically like not having insurance - save your money or find another insurance company."
"I recently did an International move from Canada to the UK and the insurance company my local mover Redpath Relocation uses is Unirisc, which is the insurance company that comes through the International mover, aptly named Mover One International. It was the only company offered and ergo I either insured or took a chance. Suffice to say I am grateful I took the insurance as unfortunately due to the poor packing and loading, my personal goods were damaged. (more on that at a later date.) The cost of the insurance for the short period of three months was almost double what I paid annually with Chubb to insure a 5,000 sq ft home, with outdoor spaces and a pool, all the contents and liability insurance. Once my goods arrived in the UK and were taken to Gerson relocation warehouses, a condition report had to be done so that the UK insurers could take over. Within hours of Gerson relocation unpacking my goods, I received urgent calls and over 200 photographs showing damages. (more on that at a later date) I immediately contacted Redpath and Mover One International and began the tedious and what turned out to be the six month battle to get the insurance to pay out my claim. In the end, I settled and received less than what I was owed but this was due to the fact that in order to give them the damaged goods, someone would have to pay to unpack my storage units and repack the remaining goods. I was quite happy for this to be done but WK Websters Overseas who I was dealing with and who work on behalf of Unirisc refused to pay. As the months went on and I became more and more frustrated, I encountered a person called Michael Fitzpatrick from Unirisc, he is very charming on the phone but believe me is no more interested in paying out the claim than WK Websters employees. I have only one final thing to say do NOT EVER USE UNIRISC or WK WEBSTER for insurance coverage. They will grind you down and keep the claim going until you have had enough. In my case I was about to go into hospital for major surgery and badly wanted my dealings with these people to be over and done with so I offered a settlement amount, which initially they refused but I persevered and was able to close the file myself. RUN for the hills..... If you see either of these names, do not risk your sanity and your personal goods to their insurance coverage."
