Cry Baby Studios DC

"i had really high hopes going in to the studio. I went for a flash day almost a year ago. I got there a little early (nowhere more than 5-10mins) as i hate being late and want to be respectful of the artists’ time. i go to check in and the receptionist basically yelled at me despite there being nothing in the confirmation that said anything about when to show up. the artist who did my piece was then very far behind with another client and i didn’t get seen until at least half an hour, if not more, after i was scheduled. i can understand that flash days can be hectic, but it was just a very stressful environment to be in. i then felt incredibly rushed to pick a tattoo location. while i very much recognize that i could have spoken up, i felt really uncomfortable in the space especially after getting yelled at for being too early. i have a lot of tattoos (close to 15 separate pieces, excluding the one i got done at this shop) and was just so disappointed with the tattoo i got and overall experience. i am now in the process of getting the tattoo removed because i had such a bad experience getting it and have some pretty negative emotions towards it. i love the art of tattooing and really like what this shop is trying to do, especially considering the tattoo scene in dc isn’t big. i just hope that in the time since ive been there, they’ve made efforts to improve on service and experience for clients."

"Their work and talent seems amazing! No question about that and it had me really excited to be a first time client at Cry Baby. Unfortunately, the customer service angle was lacking in my experience. I was ghosted by the studio and artist after being told someone would be in touch. That’s despite following up again twice over a 2 month period— one of those times at the request of the artist who posted on Instagram about prioritizing folks whose emails were missed before if they re-upped their request. My final follow up was 1/18. I got no responses or further explanation as of this review’s date (1/30). Disappointed!"

"Cry Baby is amazing! It was highly recommended to me by a few friends and I’m so glad I went. The shop itself is very clean, warm, and welcoming. Everyone there is super nice and very talented. I got a tattoo from Simba and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Her floral designs and line work are incredible. As a tattoo newbie, she took the time to explain everything to me and was very patient when working through the design and placement. She drew up a beautiful piece for me and it turned out better than I could have asked. Will definitely be coming back for more and recommending to anyone I know looking for a tattoo!"

"I had an excellent experience at Cry Baby Studios! My tattoo artist was Angela and she made me feel so welcome and at ease. She showed me a few options for my tattoo and made a small adjustment that I asked for. I’m so impressed with her artistry and ability to draw exactly what I was imagining! The tattooing itself was quick and relatively painless. The shop was clean and inviting. I highly recommend trying to get on Angela’s books when they open!"
