Reviews of Ann Taylor
"This store has very nice clothing for my age group ( 62 years ) keep up the great work."
"I went to the Ann Taylor store located in the Columbia Mall on Monday, June 6th around 2:20 p.m. While the sales associate helping me was very friendly, I can’t say the same for the customer who was checking out beside me. This customer was paying with cash. While there were signs posted about a “coin shortage,” this customer was treated VERY poorly during her transaction. She handed a $100 bill to the sales associate, who then had to call for the manager/assistant manager because she didn’t have enough money in the cash register drawer to make change. The manager/assistant manager (dark hair, glasses) came out to the front desk and proceeded to spew off about not being sure if they had enough money to break the $100 bill, and this is why people shouldn’t use cash, etc. Just SO very rude and condescending. The manager/assistant manger finally, and reluctantly, gave five $20 bills to the sales associate, who then gives the customer her change. I wanted to interject so much and remind this employee that there’s NO dollar bill shortage (and honestly, the Columbia Mall was the only location in my multi state traveling to have a coin shortage), and MAYBE she should receive additional training in regards to how to treat the customers who take the time to shop at this store. I had planned to shop after taking care of returning my online orders, but decided I would take my business elsewhere."
"My wife sent my son to return some items all with their respective receipts but apparently they couldn't find the receipt to a couple of them. Their website says that means they should give a store credit but the lady in this store didn't even offer it as an option forcing my wife now to come back on a different occasion to get it handled. Actually, we ended up going to the original Ann Taylor we bought them from and they wrapped up the return in minutes putting it on our Ann Taylor card."
"The store seemed very dim and not inviting. They only had two sales associates working and they were both attending to one client. They didn't have sizes for two items that are interested in. I've been to other Ann Taylor's and this definitely wasn't one of my favorites."
"I have been a patron at the Ann Taylor in the Columbia Mall for about ten years. I love their beautiful clothes, they always have great discounts and I have never had a bad experience with a store associate. Sadly this changed today. When I walked in I said hello to a seemingly friendly store associate and started shopping in my usual section. She then followed me over and from then on pretty much did not leave my side. I think it’s great customer service to offer to take my items to a dressing room but to then stand outside my fitting room like a prison guard while I’m the only one in there, not offer to grab a new size, encourage me to take all items with me (not to mention put back on my winter layers) even when I just need to grab another size five feet away. Every time I opened the room to use the larger mirror she made a point to not so subtly look in. When I stepped out she discovered an empty earring tag/holder (which was on the floor when I first walked into the room!) and made a point of loudly proclaiming it to her coworker and exactly which room it came from. I was never near the accessories and I don’t consider myself a shady person. While I did find some very nice pieces today I can’t say I’d recommend this store as the atmosphere is hostile."
