Reviews of Extended Stay America - Philadelphia - Horsham - Dresher Rd.
"Really cheap prices for an extended stay. Location isn't bad as its right across the street from a really great park. You can easily walk over to get there. You can walk to some restaurants or the near by Wawa. There is a bus stop right in front but sadly the bus runs on a very limited schedule. Accommodations: The rooms are small and somewhat cramped but they fit in all necessities, full bathroom, kitchen with stove and full size Fridge. It was basically a studio apartment. Very cramped for a family of 4 but thank goodness the couch pulled out so the kids had a place to sleep. Drawback is on rainy days you are cramped in the same small room, no lobby or any other space for you to venture to. You would need to leave the hotel if you want to get out. Customer Service: Most of the people here were helpful, friendly and even pleasant. The manager however was a bit on the rude side, very dismissive and unwilling to help with any issues we really had. Biggest complaint we had he responded with the suggestion we find a different hotel. Amenities: There was a laundry room on site which was nice. That was really it. No pool, no game room, no lobby to hang out in. There was a grab and go breakfast with muffins and granola bars and coffee so very lacking. You were rationed to one to two rolls of TP a week and sometimes they ran out of it. Bedding and towels were also sometimes difficult to get because housekeeping was behind on washing it all. There's a trash room or two on every floor. First you had guests that would leave their trash in the hall or outside of the trashcans. Then some weeks the trash wouldn't get collected so the cans started to overflow. This attracted so many bugs and was beyond off putting. We had to kill so many bugs which really made our stay uncomfortable. They had an exterminator come but that never seemed to help."
"My overall experience was not good because the hotel promotes smoke free accommodations and you clearly smell smoke on the whole first floor. Fortunately we were able to change our room, however that is an inconvenience when you plan and pay for your stay well a head of time, in addition to having $100 held on your account that was not anticipated. The towels and wash clothes were not soft at all. Me and my guest felt like we were in a Motel. This extended stay was not upscale at all. It truly needs updating."
"I will never visit this place again. Let me start by saying the front desk was not bad they just had to deal with a bunch of adversities. Myself and several other guests had wait in the lobby for hours after check in because the rooms were not ready. Once I got into my room I realized I made a big mistake. Saving a few dollars is not worth it and the only reason I stayed is because I went through a third party. My room was horrible and I understood people do live there but they should have a floor or some designated rooms for true guests that’s just passing through. The only thing that was presentable was the toilet. I didn’t want to touch anything in the room. It was trash under the bed, the couch looked like they found it in the trash, the tub needs to be updated. Holes in the door and shelves were falling off the walls. Bathroom fixture was cracked.."
"Beware of the reviews. They are all true and the place is horrific. We were in town for a memorial service and booked two rooms for one night. 1) Got a missed call from them at 5pm, and by the time we called them back at 7pm they said they had given away one of our rooms as we had not checked in yet and they were packed for the night. We had to find alternatives for a we people - ended up on the hosts couch. Group checking-in in front of us had 7 rooms and told us 2-3 of their rooms had been cancelled by the hotel too at the last minute. 2) On check-in they gave us the keys to room 234 and we happily went up the elevator, unlocked the door and there were 2 ladies staring back at us from the room. back to reception, waited 10 minutes for someone to appear and she said 'oh, i see - you are in room 243'. No apologies, nothing, just gave us the keys to our room. 3) room was stuffy, ac wouldn't work, security latch broken on door (we slept with a chair against the door), kitchen fridge making loud noises all through the night, bathtub faucet leaking, creaking tub, sealed soap packets upon opening smelled old and oily, no linens on the pull out couch (back to reception and wait 20 min for someone to appear.) We slept with all our clothes on -didn't see bed bugs but didn't trust these folks anymore. 4) basically, stay away. very few hotels in that area. Drive an hour away to find a place but don't stay here is my advice."
"This place is horrible. Our room was dirty upon arrival. It smelled like a gym locker room. The art work on the wall was under broken glass. The HVAC system while functional had metal pieces sticking out from the unit making it a tripping hazard. The staff was away from the front desk for extended periods of time. I am aware of the many taxes applied to hotel rooms but room rate charged far exceeded the advertised daily rate. I checked out, moved across the street to the newly refurbished Simply Suites by Sonesta. It felt like moving from public housing to a penthouse and the rate was $13/night less. I am not hard to please but there was absolutely nothing redeeming about this hotel."
