"We stayed here for one night with our dog and the four of us. The price was reasonable including the pet fee. Our room was clean, up-to-date, and didn't lack anything important. We had a bit of trouble connecting to the Wi-Fi on my laptop, but managed to connect to it after some time. The breakfast buffet had a good selection. The staff was very friendly both to us and our dog, especially Christine."

I have stayed at many hotels (work travel and personal) and the service I received here was far above a 5 star resort. Christine who set up and managed breakfast was very impressive, she made sure everyone had what they needed (it was busy) while making sure the free hot breakfast was stocked consistently. "We have stayed here several times when in town on business. The front desk and breakfast staff are awesome - very nice, professional, and helpful. 10/10 for the staff and amenities. However, this visit we used the Government rate and were assigned to a special disability accessible room. The smell of dog was overpowering and really awful. The bathroom stunk to high heaven and it looked as if someone tried to wipe the door and shower walls down with a muddy rag. We didn't arrive until almost 1am, and made due with what we had due to exhaustion. However, the room was not ready for a guest bc the animal smell is extremely overpowering. As a dog owner, I know wet-dog when I smell it, and this was someone using the bathroom as a dog wash. It stunk so badly in there and that room and bathroom need a very deep clean. The staff and amenities were fantastic, great location, too....but the rooms (Room 131!!) need a deep clean and some attention."

"Updated rooms, always clean. Right off the highway. I have stopped over here a few times and always felt that the hotel was just fine for the price. Staff are helpful and friendly. This is a good place to stop for the night."

"My wife and were heading to central New York and needed an overnight stopping point. We had met a friend at this hotel for a short visit many years ago, so gave it a shot. Glad we did as the staff was friendly and the rooms were clean and nice. This is an older Hampton property, but has been very well maintained! They also have a very nice patio area on the north side that looks out over the valley below. Great spot to relax in the evening. While the Hampton does not have an included restaurant, there is a breezeway connecting to the "Top of the Eighties" restaurant next door. The food is good and the staff very nice. The dining room has a wonderful view over the valley area. Recommended. The Hampton's location on I-81 is about an hour's drive from Scranton. If you are headed that way (such as Steam Town National Park; recommended), this is a recommended hotel."
