"I don't like commenting on an organization as a whole but I would like to share my experience in the off chance that it might help another patient. I initially sought medical attention for a non-displaced fracture of the 5th metatarsal at an urgent care facility, where scans were taken to confirm the diagnosis. Subsequently, the urgent care professionals recommended that I consult an orthopedic specialist. With this in mind, I scheduled an appointment with Dr. Shick at the Rothman Institute. However, instead of acknowledging the scans that had already been performed and validated by the urgent care facility, I was met with frustration and resistance from a nurse. Both the nurse and the doctor were quite adamant that I could not be examined without new scans being taken at Rothman Institute. Their reasoning was to protect their own liability. What truly surprised me was the unwillingness of Rothman's staff to even consider the previously taken scans. It left me feeling unheard and disregarded as a patient who was seeking efficient and effective medical care. If you value a healthcare provider who takes the time to listen to you and avoids performing unnecessary (and expensive) scans, I would suggest exploring other options. In my case, I found the professionals at Mercer Bucks to be more accommodating and patient-centered. My best wishes to all the patients out there!"
